The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) has distanced itself from activities and statements made by Oketch Salah, clarifying that he acts solely in his personal capacity and does not represent the party in any official manner.
In a statement released on its official X account on Saturday, February 7, 2026, the party emphasised that all official ODM activities must be sanctioned through the Party Secretariat with approval from the party leadership.
“The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) wishes to clarify that any activities, statements, or engagements undertaken by Mr Oketch Salah are carried out strictly in his personal capacity and do not represent or bind the Orange Democratic Movement in any way,” read the statement signed by National Chairperson Gladys Wanga.
ODM reiterated that all official party programs and engagements are conducted under the guidance of the party leadership, led by Party Leader Dr Oburu Odinga.
“All official ODM activities, programs, and engagements are channelled through the Party Secretariat and are undertaken with the approval and guidance of the Party leadership, headed by Dr Oburu Odinga,” the statement added.
The party further cautioned grassroots leaders, members, and supporters against organising or participating in any activities in the name of ODM without prior consultation and approval from the leadership.
“Grassroots leaders, members, and supporters are therefore advised that no activities should be organised or conducted in the name of ODM without prior consultation and approval from the Party leadership and the Secretariat,” ODM warned.
Reaffirming its commitment to internal discipline and structured operations, the party concluded by stating that it remains dedicated to maintaining order and discipline within its ranks.
“The Party remains committed to order, discipline, and structured engagement in the pursuit of its objectives,” the statement concluded.
