Former prime minister Raila Odinga on Wednesday morning showed off his new shoe and wristband gifts he received from his Mt Kenya supporters over the weekend, while on a tour of the region.

In a tweet, the ODM leader also disclosed he was given a second gift for President Uhuru Kenyatta, which he promised to deliver to the Head of State.

”Thank you Charles Gachara and Kaba Miano for the gift of shoes and armbands. Nitatesa nazo! I will make sure I deliver to President Uhuru Kenyatta his armband as well,” the ODM leader wrote.

Yesterday, Odinga’s bid for the presidency in 2022 got a huge boost after he was endorsed by the Mt Kenya Foundation, an elite group of the region’s billionaires and moguls with huge political influence.

MKF vice-chairman Titus Ibui disclosed that the President met the wealthy club members in Sagana, Nyeri county last year and sought their help in identifying an ideal person to take over in 2022.

“The President asked us to advise him on what type of person he should hand the mantle to,” he said.
