Kenya’s Rising Starlets are through to the third round of the FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup Qualifiers after beating Angola 4-1 on Saturday 14th October 2023 in Luanda, Angola at the de Junho stadium.
The Rising Starlets dominated the game from the get-go, with Valerie Nekesa setting the pace by scoring a brilliant goal just six minutes into the match. The Kenyan offense continued to press forward, and Rebecca Kwoba added another goal in the 36th minute, putting them in a comfortable lead.
Angola fought hard and managed to find the back of the net once, but the Rising Starlets’ defense held firm. In the 57th minute, Anna Arusi extended Kenya’s lead with a well-placed strike. As the match entered extra time, Charity Midewa sealed the deal for Kenya with a goal in the 94th minute.
