Never Heard of Someone Facing a Trial Sending Their Statements of Defense to the Prosecutors Before The Case Starts

Grueling panic can be a very bad thing and Kenyans can see that now with DP Rigathi Gachagua facing impeachment hearing on Tuesday October 8, 2024 and giving out his entire defense arguments in a press conference at his official residence in Karen the day before the parliamentary hearing on his case.

I mean I am not a lawyer and my Career Tutor at Kakamega High school took me to a law office in the town because I had chosen Law as my option if I pass my A level exams as it was then and and make it to the University of Nairobi. At that time there was no other university college and KUC came in.

At the law office he took me in the town there was nothing but papers and huge files. You couldn’t walk around. So when we went back to Kakamega campus I told him I am not even thinking of taking Law in college.

Even then I could be a better lawyer for the besieged Rigathi Gachagua right now. He would have to pay me on M-PESA. I would tell him one thing. Shut up until you go to parliament. And then take it from there. You cannot be apologizing and asking for forgiveness from the country and still saying you have done nothing wrong. Try to add it up. Please. You are giving your enemies all the tools to send you to your political grave. Talk about the “Theatre of the Absurd”.

You cannot plead guilty as charged in public and then go to parliament, your court of hearing and plead not guilty. If this is the advice you are getting from your twenty lawyers whom you are paying a fortune you should fire them as soon as you are impeached and heading to court and hire new lawyers. I am available.

You look at every one of Gachagua’s public defense plans so far and most it may be a pack of lies. But worse is his plan to combat Nairobi County Governor Johnson Sakaja who is scheduled to provide reasons for Gachagua’s impeachment in Parliament.

One of the big issues in Nairobi County is that Gachagua is determined to divide the County into tribal enclaves and he has done everything to fight Sakaja to achieve that.

The last of was when he recently addressed business people in the Nairobi CBD, on September 20, 2024, after the governor had asked them to move out of the CBD to help ease the traffic mess on the streets and move to Kangundo Market.

Gachagua denies he did anything like that and claims he was just talking to the traders and there is nothing wrong with that. Sakaja may decide to provide the videos of DP Gachagua addressing the traders speaking Kikuyu language and urging them to oppose anything the governor was working on and he went on and on. Governor Sakaja and Nairobians have all that information at hand.

‘Wananiuzia uwoga’ – DP Gachagua breaks silence on impeachment plot

The other bad excuse DP Gachagua used to justify his incitement of Nairobi traders against their governor was that have to demand a meeting with him.

It happens just days before Gachagua went for his agitation mission at the CBD, the governor already had a meeting with the traders and both parties amicably agreed to sort out the issues and move out of the CBD. The governor has videos of those meetings and now due to Gachagua’s press conference the governor will be forced to come to the hearing in parliament about impeachment in parliament armed with those tapes too.

All these will just prove that Gachagua’s agenda for Kenya and Nairobi in this case is purely tribalistic where parts of the country only belongs to certain tribes. If every Kenyan adopted that as their policy we have no country called Kenya anymore. That is DP Rigathi Gachagua for you. Kenyans are rejecting that nonsense in his face.

Traders Meet Sakaja, Agree to Relocate to Kangundo Road Market in Bid to Ease Congestion

Traders from Muthurwa and Marikiti markets, dealing in produce like onions, potatoes, oranges, and pineapples, have agreed to relocate to Kangundo Market following a meeting with Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja.

The move aims to reduce congestion in the city’s crowded markets, which are operating well beyond their intended capacity.

Traders from Muthurwa and Marikiti have agreed to relocate their businesses to Kangundo Market.

The announcement follows a crucial meeting with Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja, held on Friday morning, which underscored the need for improved trading conditions in the city.

Chairing the meeting, Governor Sakaja was joined by Nairobi Regional Police Boss Adamson Bungei and Wakulima Market Chairperson Paul Maina.

The relocation plan is part of a broader strategy to counteract the severe overcrowding that has plagued Muthurwa and Marikiti, where the number of traders has swelled to three times the intended capacity of 1,200.

“After discussions with the Governor, we are convinced that we will benefit more from Kangundo Market, which boasts modern facilities and is designed to accommodate over 5,000 traders,” stated Paul Maina, also known as Tonnie.

During the meeting, chaired by Sakaja and attended by Nairobi Regional Police Boss Adamson Bungei, Wakulima Market Chair Paul Maina (Tonnie) expressed traders’ readiness for the transition.

“Kangundo Market is modern, with space for over 5,000 traders, and we are convinced that this move will benefit us,” Maina said.

Governor Sakaja emphasized that the relocation is necessary to restore order and improve conditions for traders.

The other issue DP Gachagua put in front page of his press conference was about his family and his late brother Nderitu Gachagua and he is claiming that all the corruption and theft of public money charges against him is an abuse to his brother and is family.

Personally I am a family person brought up by his mother and his father and my great sisters and when our parents passed away my four sisters and me had to figure out our lives. So when people talk about their families I will never sneer at that. My family has meant the world to me in all conditions.

But this is not about DP Gachagua’s family and even he knows it.

The Sh. 5.2 billion the DP has been accused of grabbing as investment in his businesses is the issue he has to deal with.

Instead Gachagua has spent two days telling Kenyans about his family and claiming that all the wealth he is being accused of grabbing are just properties of his late brother who passed that over to the family. That is something to respect.

In terms of the hearings in parliament, those who have claimed evidence that Gachagua is a public thief will provide their evidence in parliament and the DP has already given his side. Kenyans will find out how that matches with the reality of the accusations.

My last thinking on the DP Gachagua defense on issues like claiming that the Public Participation process was flowed is that it is irrelevant at the impeachment hearing in parliament.

If that is Gachagua’s main defense on his case then he has to wait until after he has been impeached then take the matter to the courts when he is applying to stop or delay the impeachment.

But as we all noticed at DP Gachagua’s press conference at his official residence in Karen, it is a palace and if that is your private official residence you want to live there for 10 years and move to the bigger one at State House for another ten years till 2042. You would be furious and restless when all that is going out of your hands. That is twenty years of luxury and living large being taken away from you with a bang on your head. Just painful for the man.

We are sorry about that DP, but there is very little any of us can do to keep you there. Just go and the quicker the better for you.
