As Ida Odinga accused ODM leaders of ferrying goons from Homa Bay, Linda Mwananchi’s Reuben Ndolo claimed he recruited youths from Busia, Luanda and Bondo after allegedly being sent by Edwin Sifuna.
Mama Ida Odinga blamed some ODM leaders for ferrying goons from Homa Bay to Raila Odinga’s first anniversary memorial in Bondo.
But Reuben Ndolo’s account of recruiting youths from Busia, Luanda and Bondo has introduced a competing narrative over the mobilisation behind the chaos that marred the ceremony.
Ndolo, a member of the Linda Mwananchi movement, claimed on Sunday that Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna sent him to recruit youths from Busia, Luanda in Vihiga County and Bondo in Siaya County.
Speaking on Sunday at a church service attended by Sifuna and Embakasi East MP Babu Owino, Ndolo said he had carried out the assignment, describing how he travelled to the three locations to mobilise youths.
“Alinituma, tukafanya mkutano, nikaenda mbele. Nikafanya kila kazi. Nikaenda Busia nikachukua vijana, Luanda pale kwa nyanya yangu nikachukua vijana. Bondo nikachukua vijana. Sasa mliona vile mambo iliwaka huko,” he said.
His remarks came a day after Ida apologised to guests who were booed and intimidated during the October 15 memorial at Kang’o ka Jaramogi. She accused some ODM leaders of ferrying goons from Homa Bay to the gathering.
