MP Wanjiku Kibe, legislator for Gatundu North says the ground in Mt Kenya is fully behind Deputy President William Ruto but notes that ODM supremo Raila Odinga will win the presidency in 2022. Kibe, an ally of President Uhuru Kenyatta and part of Jubilee Party’s Kieleweke wing, also vowed to contribute to ODM leader’s Azimio la Umoja rallying call saying it was very important to the country’s unity.
”Good morning good people. I’ve been properly updated and briefed by my friend Joseph Mugwe that …..while I was away it was so decided that…..The Ground is Ruto and President is Raila! Tuendelee na muoyo huyo huyo wa Azimio la Umoja Kenya Moja,” the MP’s post reads in part.
Kibe is among Mt Kenya MPs who have since joined the former prime minister’s camp and wants him to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta when he retires next year.

From Mt Kenya East, Governors Kiraitu Murungi (Meru), Muthomi Njuki (Tharaka Nithi), Martin Wambora (Embu), Agriculture Cabinet Secretary Peter Munya and National Assembly Deputy Chief Whip Maoka Maore are some of the notable leaders supporting Raila’s 2022 quest.
From Mt Kenya West, Governors Mwangi Wa Iria (Murang’a), James Nyoro (Kiambu), Anne Waiguru (Kirinyaga), Mutahi Kahiga (Nyeri), Francis Kimemia (Ntandarua)vand Ndiritu Muriithi (Laikipia), as well as former Gatanga MP Peter Kenneth have endorsed Odinga.
