Moses Kuria Hints at Vying for Nairobi Governor in 2027

Former Trade Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria has once again given the clearest indication that he may try his luck in the Nairobi governor race come the 2027 General Election.

Through his X handle on Sunday, November 30, 2025, Kuria shared a well-designed campaign-style poster featuring himself and Makadara Member of Parliament George Aladwa.

He went on to state that his interest in Nairobi is not inspired by tribe or party politics, but by a deep desire to restore order and efficiency in the capital city.

“Not because of our tribes. Not because of our parties. Because we care for Nairobi. Because we understand what Nairobians are going through. Because we have local, regional and global networks to fix Nairobi,” Kuria wrote on X.

Kuria emphasised leadership experience as his key selling point, writing that he and Aladwa have years of combined managerial and governance knowledge needed to reposition the city.

“Because we have many years of combined leadership and managerial experience. Because we are not tribal. Because we have what it takes to MAKE NAIROBI WORK AGAIN,” he noted.
