The government is upgrading to bitumen standards of 10km Kericho Town Roads ahead of Mashujaa Day celebrations to be held at the Kericho Green Stadium on 20th October 2023.

Once complete, Transport CS Kipchumba Murkomen says, the roads will improve access to the stadium and other essential facilities in the County including markets and schools, and help in decongesting Kericho town.

The roads will also have Non-Motorized Transport (NMT) components including walkways and a proper drainage system.

CS Murkomen spoke over the weekend in Kericho County while launching the initiative, an event also attended by the Governor of Kericho Hon. Erick Mutai, the Senate Majority Leader Hon. Aaron Cheruiyot, the County Women Rep Hon. Beatrice Kemei, area Members of Parliament Hon. Nelson Koech and Hon. Benjamin Lang’at, MCAs, and National and County Government officials.
