Meru Governor Kiraitu Murungi has tested positive for the deadly Covid-19, just four days after receiving a jab of the vaccine on Monday. While making the announcement on Friday at the Meru county offices, Health CEC Mishek Mutuma confirmed the governor was already under medication and is isolated.

The CEC added that the governor is doing well in isolation and will be back to the public soon.

The residents have also been urged to adhere to Covid protocols in order to reduce further infection.

“I want to advise all the people of Meru to take all the precautionary measures given out by the department of health. Let us always wash our hands with soap and water, wear our masks and keep social distance in all the places,” Mutuma said.
