Azimio running mate Martha Karua impressed Kenyans and attendees of the National Prayer Breakfast at the Safari Park Hotel in Nairobi with her speech, after Deputy President William Ruto broke protocol and invited her to address the congregation.
Karua in her address asked leaders present at the annually held event to stop the politics of insults and put into action all the messages of peace they have talked about at the meeting.
”Prayers without action are not real. How I pray that our prayers are matched by our actions. If we do that, we’ll have peaceful elections, a peaceful transition, and a nation that stands together. God bless Kenya and thank you William for inviting me,” Karua said.

William Ruto who was making his address asked Karua to speak on behalf of Raila Odinga, his main competitor who was not present at this year’s national prayer breakfast.
“Before I conclude my remarks, in the absence of my brother Raila Odinga, who is my main competitor in this election, I’m going to ask my sister Martha Karua… Allow me to break protocol so that she can come and make some few remarks,” Ruto said while inviting the Narc-Kenya leader to speak.
