Narc Kenya leader Martha Karua and former Gatanga MP Peter Kenneth have topped the list of possible running mate for ODM leader Raila Odinga in 2022.
This revelation comes following a meeting of Mr. Odinga’s politburo in Dubai, together with close allies of President Uhuru Kenyatta from last week. The former prime minister jetted back into the country on Thursday afternoon before heading to Nyandarua for a series of political activities.

On Friday evening, the Women League around President Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Odinga was hosted by Nack-Kenya leader Martha Karua at a Nairobi hotel, where the leaders discussed a possible working arrangement with Karua, who also is a spokesperson of the Mt Kenya Unity Forum.
”I want to appreciate all those who have confidence in me and to also remind us all that the seat of Deputy President is not the one that you can declare your candidature, it depends on the candidate and it is a last card played very close to the election,” the former Justice minister she said on Friday.
According to a source at the meeting, the Women League courted Karua and have are said to be rallying behind her to deputize Raila next year. Leaders present at the meeting were CAS Rachel Shebesh, Woma Reps Florence Mutua, Esther Passaris, Nyeri Deputy Governor Caroline Karugu among others.

Apart from Karua, former Gatanga MP Peter Kenneth is featuring prominently in a pool of five individuals as the most suitable DP candidate for Raila. Kenneth has been one of the leading Mt Kenya leaders accompanying the former prime minister on his Mt Kenya rallies in Laikipia Meru, Tharaka Nithi , Murang’a, and Kiambu counties.
Apart from Martha Karua and PK, other possible running mates of Raila include Agriculture Cabinet Secretary Peter Munya and Governor Lee Kinyanjui.
