Comedy gurus Jalango and Chruchill also known as Mwalimu Kingangi will be the mediators between Eric Omondi as the Kenya Film and Classification Board (KFB). The announcement was made by Eric Mutua, the KFB boss. Comedian Eric Omondi was arrested on Thursday, together with his crew for claims of sharing and circulating pornographic content.
”Eric has agreed to our conditions for an out of court settlement. He has agreed to take down all explicit content from his social media platforms. I have appointed a Mediation Committee led by Jalang’o, Churchill and other top artistes to meet the KFCB team and DCI on Monday,” Ezekiel Mutua tweeted.
On Friday, after being released on bail, Eric Omondi offered a public apology to KFB Boss Eric Mutua, saying the show ”Wife Material”, do not have to be explicit to sell. Omondi has also asked for an out-of-court settlement over the same.
“We received an apology and request from Eric Omondi for an out-of-court settlement of the case against him, but apparently the explicit videos are still circulating on his social media platforms. The pornographic videos MUST be taken down by 8 am Mon 15th March 2021 otherwise..” Mutua wrote.
In the Friday apology, Eric Omondi agreed with Mutua his show had explicit content .
“I have had a very long phone call with my very good friend Daktari Ezekiel Mutua and he is of the very strong opinion that Wife Material does not have to be dirty to sell. I completely agree with him and I have sent him a personal apology,” said Omondi.
