Former President Uhuru Kenyatta on Sunday held talks with H.E Évariste Ndayishimiye, President of the Republic of Burundi at the State House in Bujumbura, in his capacity as the Facilitator of the EAC – led Nairobi Peace Process in the Restoration of Peace and Stability in the eastern Democratic Congo (DRC).
The two leaders discussed and deliberated on various issues, concerning the Great Lakes Region and the outcomes of the 11th Summit of the Regional Oversight and Cooperation Framework for the Democratic Republic held on the 6th of May 2023 in Burundi.
Mr. Kenyatta arrived in Burundi yesterday to attend the 11th Summit of the Regional Oversight and Cooperation Framework for the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and the region.
The Jubilee Party leader also attended a closed session where he presented a report to the Heads of State and Government on the progress and recommendations for the next important steps of the DRC peace process.
