As President William Ruto and French President Emmanuel Macron successfully co-host the landmark Africa Forward Summit in Nairobi, convening over 30 African heads of state and global leaders to forge partnerships in innovation, trade, infrastructure, and growth, Rigathi Gachagua has once again exposed himself as petty, bitter, and dangerously unpatriotic.
In a disgraceful press conference on Tuesday, timed precisely to coincide with this major diplomatic event, the impeached former Deputy President unleashed a barrage of reckless attacks on both President William Ruto and his guests currently in Nairobi.
He disparaged the summit, savaged President Ruto, insulted the UN Secretary-General, and went as far as hurling wild corruption accusations at a sitting French President visiting Kenya.
A deliberate, undiplomatic sabotage aimed at embarrassing the nation on the global stage for his own selfish political resuscitation.
The country today is basking in a rare diplomatic triumph, positioning itself as a strategic bridge between Anglophone and Francophone Africa, and establishing Nairobi as an emerging global hub.
Multiple agreements have been signed, promising real opportunities in infrastructure, energy, digital economy, and investment. Yet Gachagua, consumed by toxic bitterness and vendetta against President Ruto, chose this moment to paint Kenya as a corrupt, compromised nation before international dignitaries and the world media.
This paints the picture of a conduct of a small man with a massive grudge. Not a leader or even a responsible opposition figure.
Compared to statesmen like the late Raila Odinga who have always understood that national interest and Kenya’s international image must rise above partisan politics, Gachagua prefers cheap press conferences dripping with propaganda and outright recklessness.
The DCP leader’s only project appears to be tearing down anything linked to President Ruto, even if it means dragging Kenya’s reputation through the mud.
This latest stunt is treasonous in spirit and reveals a man so blinded by hatred that he would rather see Kenya fail than allow any success under Ruto’s leadership.
At this rate, Rigathi Gachagua has not only disqualified himself from any future leadership role but also shown himself to be a liability to the nation he claims to love.
Patriots build but saboteurs like Gachagua only destroy.
