Kabando Wa Kabando demands full disclosure of Raila’s last days
Former Mukurweini MP Kabando wa Kabando has raised serious questions over the involvement of what he described as a mysterious figure, Salah Oketch, in matters surrounding the late Raila Odinga and his family.
Kabando says the situation has moved beyond a private family dispute and now raises concerns of public interest and political intrigue.
In a statement shared on X on Sunday, February 8, 2026, Kabando wa Kabando pointed to the tension between Salah and Raila’s immediate family, questioning why certain family members appeared to defend him.
“The Raila Odinga saga embroiling the mysterious guy, Salah Oketch, versus Raila’s immediate family – spouse Ida, offspring Hon Winnie & Raila Jnr, and sister Ruth – is no longer a private family matter. Why is Oburu defending Salah? What is the undercover link between Salah and President Ruto?” Kabando wa Kabando asked.
He further challenged the timing and role of Salah in public events following Raila’s death, highlighting the need for clarity on who was influencing key decisions during the late leader’s final days.
“Where did this Salah come from, in Raila’s most vulnerable and sunset days? More importantly, what, or rather, who killed Raila? There is more than meets the eye in this Raila Saga. Who is the real Salah? Why is he representing President Ruto in events immediately after Raila death?” Kabando wa Kabando asked.
Kabando also questioned financial links, calling for full transparency over the funding of activities involving Salah in the ODM party, shortly after Raila’s passing.
“Why is Ruto bankrolling Salah for ODM events even before the flowers we put on Raila’s grave have dried? We demand a full disclosure of Raila’s last days. It is for the public interest that I petition!” Kabando wa Kabando stated.
Kabando insists that these questions are crucial for protecting democratic accountability and ensuring that the late leader’s legacy is not misused for political advantage.
I have some good advice for people like Kabando Wa Kabando and so many others desperate to bank on Raila Odinga’s death and fame to become big politicians in the country themselves. That battle is going on and Kenyans can see that within ODM itself.
My advice to Kabando is to move and live at Kang’o Ka Jaramogi home in Nyamira which is not far from the emerging great Jaramogi University College in Bondo town.

When I was some young teenager, I know that is 1 million years ago, I finished my High School at Kakamega High School and I was employed as a teacher at Nyamira Girls High School.
I went there and loved the job. Employed there at the same time with me were two other teachers who were high school graduates. One from Bar Kowino and the other one from Uyoma. That is how the education system used to work at that time with local graduate students getting jobs as teachers in schools near where they live.

We liked our job but there was nowhere for us to live. The school could not get any housing so we had to bike to the school and back and it was just impossible.
The family of Jaramogi Oginga heard about Nyamira Girls School not able to house three teachers who they need and they came to the school and took all the three of us to houses at the Kang’o Ka Jaramogi home which has the same fence with the school because Jaramogi gave the land to build Nyamira Girls High School.
So, here is the Kang’o Ka Jaramogi which Kabando needs to find a place to stay. He will be very welcomed there, and they are not going to charge him any rent, so it is all good.

On my part as teachers at Nyamira here are the houses the Jaramogi family gave us to live in while teaching at the school. We were just kids ourselves and had never had our own houses with electricity and everything and we were just blown away by the kindness of the family and the school.
At Nyamira Girls High School the three of us were not employed by the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) and that meant TSC was not paying any rent for us. Jaramogi family told us not to worry about rent because they were offering the houses to Nyamira Girls High School for free to house teachers.
If Kabando needs any help getting somewhere in there I will give him my e-mail and boom this thing could be done and Raila can rest peacefully in his grave as politicians gamble endlessly on his name for their own selfish interests. That is Kenyan politics and we live on but here is one of the three homes Jaramogi gave us as teachers for free to work in Nyamira Girls High School.
