Deputy President Rigathi Gachgaua says there is nothing the government can do to lower the cost of living for the millions of Kenyans burdened with the current economic crisis.
In a televised interview with Nation Media on Sunday night, the Deputy President insisted they inherited empty coffers from the last regime and with nothing, there is nothing they can do to change the current situation.
”We know we that we promised to bring the cost of food down, we have not broken those promises. We are on it. It may not be as fast as we may have wanted because we really did not know the real position at the National Treasury…When we came we found nothing. With nothing there is nothing we could do,” DP Gachagua said.
” I have every regard for those who did not vote for me, and I know they also agree with me because the cost of unga is up. The issues we were talking about were not about our supporters, they were about this country,” he added.
