Rigathi Gachagua has said if ODM cannot trust him they can trust Kalonzo.
I do not want to care much who ODM trusts but I do care who THE LUO will trust and mine is to urge my community to not trust Rigathi Gachagua through a proxy called Kalonzo.
Gachagua already took 50% of the government from Kalonzo, including all critical positions in Nairobi County and, on top of it, all cabinet positions currently held by Luos — Treasury, Energy, State Law and Interior.
Gachagua was opposed to the appointment of Ogola as CDF. He was opposed to Raila’s AUC bid; and he was opposed to the entry of Luos into cabinet.
He threatened to bring down Ruto for bringing Luos to government. His minions whine openly that Luos joined government hadi ndani kwa jikoni…
Despite Kalonzo’s denials, he has offered Gachagua the core of government so what is there to negotiate with Kalonzo?
What remains that the Luo are being told to take? Tourism, National Heritage, ASALs?
What is there to trust in Kalonzo? What is Kalonzo offering us? The core of government or merely good vibes and old nostalgia?
Gachagua realizes that the collapsing ‘DisUnited Opposition’ need ODM (which you must always read as the Luo — they need the Luo).
He won some MCA seats and announced ODM is dead — which he has been told was a mistake.
Running away from announcing ODM’s obituary, he is back on the microphone, trying to kut kut kut ODM through Kalonzo. What then was dead?
Just as they never trusted Raila Odinga to his death; that aura must be maintained.
Gachagua still maintains Raila Odinga was not an option for the Kikuyu/Gikuyu in 2022.
He accuses Uhuru of propping Raila who was not an option for the Kikuyu.
You want the Party of Raila Odinga to support your cause but still dance on his grave? You still declare him someone your community could not trust, but want to buy the trust of his community through your minion?
If ODM could not form an alliance with Gachagua when Raila Odinga was alive; it cannot form an alliance with Gachagua when Raila Odinga is dead.
Gachagua’s battle against Ruto is not our battle and we must not join it.
If we have a reason to battle Ruto it must be an internal, community-centric reason.
Our battle against President Ruto, if any, must be an internal grievance; not taking Gachagua’s grievance as our grievance.
The Luo grievance has always been on the issue of EXCLUSION. Gachagua’s politics is that of EXCLUSION.
There’s no way a community which has fought for decades to be included, will walk away from the government, to go search for it in the wilderness, and even if we were to jointly win, to find ourselves being given positions far inferior to where we miraculously find ourselves today — because the lucrative positions has been negotiated by Gachagua, for his people.
What is Gachagua, through Kalonzo, offering the Luo?
