ICT Cabinet Secretary Joe Mucheru says Raila Odinga is likely to win the elections with more than 64% of the vote, and that the numbers have changed since Interior PS Karanja Kibicho revealed NIS data showed the Azimio torchbearer was ahead at 60%.

Speaking on Sunday night on KTN’s Checkpoint show, CS Mucheru explained the selection of Martha Karua as Mr. Odinga’s running mate, and the return of Kalonzo Musyoka to the former premier’s camp has boosted his numbers and given him an emphatic lead over his main competitor, William Ruto.

”Many reports are showing the numbers continue to change and are in favor of Raila. Bringing in Martha and Kalonzo coming in we have seen these numbers have increased. Now it is over 64 percent,” CS Mucheru said, while defending PS Kibicho’s remarks that NIS figures showed Raila was ahead with 60%.

”It is not wrong to tell someone if they have asked you a question and you give them an answer..It is not a campaign. PS Kibicho was asked what are the numbers showing. He gave what the numbers are showing. He did not tell anyone to vote for Raila Odinga, he was just asked what the numbers are showing.”
