Education CS Ezekiel Machogu has dismissed reports doing rounds online alleging the government will increase school fees next year for county and intra-county schools.

Speaking on Monday morning at Kikuyu Township Primary School in Kiambu County, CS Machogu assured parents that the annual fee remains at Ksh 53,000 and Ksh 45,000 for students in national and extra-county schools respectively.

”I would like to assure Kenyans that the government is not increasing the fees when they (students) go to Form 1. All of (the candidates) are going to be placed in Form 1. The school fees is Ksh53,000 for national and extra-county schools and Ksh45,000 for county schools,” he said.

President Ruto, who was also in attendance, wished all the candidates the best as the national exams kick off countrywide.

”Be confident and do your best. Carry out the exam knowing very well we have an opportunity for each and every child of Kenya as you move to the next stage,” the Head of State said.

”There is no child in Kenya who will not have a place to move on and progress their education to the next level. That is the confidence I want every child in Kenya to know,” he added.
