Babu Owino Backs Peaceful Protests Amid Policeman’s Injury

Embakasi East MP Babu Owino visited Chief Inspector David Maina, who was injured while handling a tear gas canister during protests against the Finance Bill 2024/25.

Owino emphasized the importance of peaceful demonstrations and urged the police to respect citizens’ rights. He also visited Corporal Moraa at the Nairobi West Hospital, praising the medical staff for their efforts in ensuring the recovery of the injured.

”Yesterday evening, I visited Chief Inspector David Maina, the policeman who got injured while handling a tear gas canister and Corporal Moraa at the Nairobi West Hospital to check on their recovery. While CI Maina suffered terrible injuries, we are happy with the good work that the doctors and nurses of the Nairobi West Hospital are doing to ensure he recovers,” Babu posted on X.

The visit highlighted Owino’s commitment to democratic values and his support for peaceful activism.
