You are not allowed to bring ODM leader Raila Odinga with you to Western Kenya, this is the message ANC MPs from Western Kenya are passing to President Uhuru Kenyatta ahead of a visit to the counties of Kakamega, Busia, Bungoma, Vihiga, and Transzoia.
Legislators from the Musalia Mudavadi led outfit suspect Raila is secretly involved in the planning of the president’s visit and might pull a surprise appearance in Western, just like he did in Ukambani when Uhuru toured the region two weeks ago.

Multiple sources indicate Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya also Raila Odinga’s deputy in ODM heads a team comprising Governors Sospeter Ojaamong (Busia), Wilberforce Otichillo (Vihiga), Wycliffe Wangamati (Bungoma), and Patrick Khaemba (Trans Nzoia) which will be in charge of the two-day visit.
”As ANC, if they will not involve our party leader, we will boycott the tour. Uhuru must call MPs and engage us accordingly on his mission to Western. This being a tour of the head of national government, the county bosses should keep off. We are particularly disturbed by the fact that the said tour is being coordinated by a deputy party leader of our political competitor,” Lugari MP Ayub Savula threatens.

Currently, the Amani National Congress (ANC) Party is outnumbered by ODM both in the Senate and the National Assembly, making things complicated for its leader Musalia Mudavadi- in terms of how to gain a firm political grip of Western Kenya. Currently, Raila’s ODM has three while Ford Kenya of Moses Wetangula has two of the region’s five governors.
Kalonzo Musyoka faced a similar situation two weeks ago, where Ukambani region governors Alfred Mutua (Machakos), Charity Ngilu (Kitui) and Kivutha Kibwana (Makueni) are close allies of Raila Odinga.
