US first female Vice President Kamala Harris on Saturday congratulated Tanzania’s new Head of State Samia Suluhu on being the furs female president in the country. In a tweet, VP Harris assured the President Suluhu the United States was ready to work to strengthen the relationship of the two countries.
”Sending best wishes to @SuluhuSamia following her swearing-in as Tanzania’s new President – the first woman to hold the office. The United States stands ready to work with you to strengthen relations between our countries,” VP Harris wrote.
On Friday 25th, Suluhu Hassan took oath of office as the new Tanzanian president, following demise of HE John Magufuli. The hijab donning Tanzanian leader has received messages of good will and best wishes from leaders agross the globe, givenshe is a first.
US VP Kamala Harris is the first African American woman, of Asian descent and the first female Vice President of the US.
