Raila Odinga says the preparations for tomorrow’s Azimio prayer rally at the Jivanjee Gardens are on course and that all Kenyans are invited to the gathering that will see the coalition and its leaders spearhead a prayer session for the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC).

Speaking on Tuesday during the burial of Prof Makau Mutua’s brother in Kitui, Mr. Odinga also disclosed the next venues for the people’s consultation rallies and revealed a plan for a major rally in Nairobi after going around the country.

”Kesho tutakua na maombi Jevanjee Gardens pale Nairobi, Jumamosi tutakua Kakamega, Jumapili tutakua Kitale, wiki ijayo tutaenda Mombasa, alafu Kiambu halafi wakati itafika, tutasema sasa imefika, tukutane Nairobi,” Mr. Odinga said.

Mr. Odinga has been holding a series of weekly citizen-assembly-type public baraza (consultation meetings) across the country following the account of a whistle-blower dossier alleging access into IEBC’s system by some unauthorized persons and manipulation of results in favour of Ruto.

The planned Wednesday protest march to the IEBC offices after the Jivanjee rally is causing jitters over possible disruptions of economic activity and confrontations with police in the streets of Nairobi.
