The Kenya School of Government (KSG) is set to launch the Raila Amolo Odinga Regional Leadership and Governance Academy in honour of the late former Prime Minister, with a focus on public sector leadership, governance and policy development across Africa.
The academy will be officially launched on a date to be announced, with Ida Odinga set to preside over the ceremony as chief guest, according to a KSG notice published on Tuesday, October 13, 2026.
The institution will train public servants and introduce programmes in artificial intelligence, public sector accountability, crisis management and policy development.
KSG said the academy would preserve Raila’s public service legacy while equipping current and future government officials with skills to strengthen governance.
It will house the Raila Odinga Knowledge Management Hub and e-Museum, the Raila Odinga Library and the Public Service Museum of Kenya, providing a repository of historical government policies, administrative records and political writings.
Businessman Manu Chandaria, through the Chandaria Foundation, has supported the initiative. The foundation will have a dedicated wing and innovation hub within the institution.
The academy seeks to extend Raila’s legacy beyond politics through leadership training, research and the preservation of Kenya’s public service history.
