According the DCP boss, Rigathi Gachagua, the only people who matter to him in the entire Coastal region in Kenya are the communities he calls his cousins and that includes Digo, Giriama, Duruma, Rabai, Chonyi, Kauma, Kambe, Jibana and Ribe communities.
In Media reports, Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has temporarily paused his Wamunyoro consultations to attend what he described as urgent “family matters” in the Coast region following a meeting with leaders of the Mijikenda community.
Gachagua said he attended a meeting of Mijikenda leaders led by their spokesman, Chirau Ali Makwere.
He said the leaders had sought solidarity from what he described as their “cousins from the Mountain” over challenges facing the Coast region.
Here are the retired politicians of Mijikenda that Gachagua is relying on to deliver the votes in the Coast for him and his buddies in the United opposition. It is kind of sad but that is who Rigathi Gachagua is as a person and a politician.
In his statement, Gachagua claimed the Coast region was facing economic and social marginalisation under President William Ruto’s administration.
He alleged that the Port of Mombasa, which he described as the region’s economic lifeline, was being sold to foreigners, senior political leaders, political brokers and the oligarchy.
Gachagua further claimed that mineral deposits at Mrima Hills had been sold to foreigners without benefiting local communities.
He also claimed that ranches were being grabbed while non-locals grazed livestock on community land under police protection.
The former deputy president claimed businesses linked to the Port of Mombasa and state corporations had been concentrated within one family.
“My cousins have been sat on and suppressed by one brutal family,” he said.
“They cannot breathe.”
“They live like refugees in their own land.”
“Together, we shall prevail. As a family, we have a shared responsibility of unity,” he said.
He added that Coast residents were determined to reclaim their dignity and take part in national political discussions without intermediaries. Gachagua also congratulated former Cabinet Secretary Kazungu Kambi and Moses Nzoro for supporting the community.
“Pongezi, Waziri Kazungu Kambi and Hon. Moses Nzoro, for walking with your people. I am very encouraged by the successful family consultations,” he said.
The chief leader of Gachagua’s cousins he was meeting at the coast is retired and completely finished politician Chirau Ali Mwakwere who must have felt like a hero being Gachagua’s Kingpin in the Coast. Don’t laugh, please.
It is Okay for Rigathi Gachagua to get into these cheap gimmicks but seriously does the Kenyan United Opposition leaders think that Gachagua’s petty tribal antics can win them any election even within the Coastal communities in Kenya forget the other communities Gachagua insults every day as he looks like he is engulfed in the most primitive politics ever seen in Kenya.
At some point you would think that the other United Opposition leaders would have a private talk with Gachagua and let him know that his naked and loud tribalism is killing any hopes of them as opposition leaders ever winning the elections in 2027.
None of the opposition leaders can dare do that because Ragathi Gachagua is their king for life. Too bad for them but that is their wish and they will get what is coming down with that on August 10, 2027.
