Winnie Odinga Reaffirms Loyalty to ODM, Accepts Nairobi Central Committee Endorsement

Winnie Odinga has reaffirmed her unwavering commitment to the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM), declaring that she is not leaving the party and pledging to continue serving its members with renewed energy and dedication.

Addressing ODM delegates from Nairobi, Odinga expressed deep gratitude for their endorsement to represent the county in the party’s Central Committee, describing the position as both an honour and a solemn responsibility.

“Ahsanteni sana ODM Delegates from Nairobi. Leo nime feel energetic sana. Let me be clear siondoki. This is home. This is the party built on sacrifice, resilience, and the dreams of millions,” she said. “I am here to stay, to serve, and to fight alongside you.”

Odinga underscored that her new role would focus on amplifying the voices of Nairobi residents, particularly the youth, women, and everyday workers striving for dignity and opportunity.

“I humbly accept your endorsement to represent Nairobi in the Central Committee. This is not just a position, it is a duty to amplify the voice of Nairobians, especially the youth, wanawake, and every hustler striving for dignity and opportunity,” she stated.

Her endorsement was unanimously backed by representatives from all seventeen constituencies in Nairobi, reflecting a strong show of unity and confidence in her leadership. The move comes amid growing calls for equitable regional representation within ODM’s top leadership structures.

Makadara MP George Aladwa, who was present during the meeting, said the decision to endorse Odinga was the result of extensive consultations held over the past two months.

“This endorsement represents the collective voice of Nairobi delegates who believe in Winnie’s ability to strengthen the party’s presence in the capital and champion the interests of our people,” Aladwa said.

Odinga’s reaffirmation of loyalty comes at a time when ODM is reorganizing its leadership and consolidating its grassroots networks ahead of 27 March NDC. Her message of unity and resilience resonated strongly with delegates, who cheered her declaration that the journey of ODM continues “stronger, bolder, and united.”
