Ruto, Ruto, Ruto Everyday; Is There Anything Else the Opposition Leaders Can Talk to Kenyans About?

Wamalwa: Ruto tried to lure me with Defence CS slot to join govt

Democratic Action Party (DAP-K) leader Eugene Wamalwa has revealed that President William Ruto tried to lure him with the Defense Cabinet Secretary position in an effort to bring him into government ahead of the 2027 elections.

Wamalwa said he turned down the offer, choosing to remain in the opposition, and told the president that he was not interested.

He added that the president, seeing the United Opposition’s growing strength and recognising it as a threat to his reelection, has resorted to desperate measures to try and buy opposition leaders into his government.

And here is the big opposition lawyer, their new Paul Muite or Gitobu Imanyara in the days Kenyans were fighting to end the Moi dictatorship. The new AG for Gachagua, Ndegwa Njiru now wants President Ruto to set up a Cancer Fund for Kenyans and as soon as Ruto sets up that Cancer Fund he will be in court representing Kalonzo Musyoka claiming that the Cancer Fund set by President Ruto is unconstitutional then at least they have some work to do. Poor fellows.

Ndegwa Njiru to Ruto: You can’t sell Singapore dreams while Kenyans battle cancer

“Ruto, before you take us to your illusionary Singapore, first declare cancer as a National disaster,” Ndegwa Njiru wote

Njiru’s statement frames cancer not just as a medical issue, but as a national emergency demanding urgent intervention. Across the country, cancer wards are crowded, diagnostic machines are in short supply, and many patients are diagnosed too late.

“Create a cancer fund that will be geared towards eradicating cancer in the country,” he stated

“Separate the treatment of cancer from SHA,” he wrote

“Create in all counties cancer screening and treatment centres and make it mandatory for every Kenyan to undergo an annual cancer screening process,” he stated

Njiru argued that a major weakness in Kenya’s fight against cancer is that many patients only learn of their illness when it is already advanced, reducing chances of survival and increasing costs. County-level centres would bring services closer to the people.

“Ensure that the food that our people are consuming are free from carcinogenic traces,” he wrote

Njiru’s statement also widens the conversation to prevention, touching on food safety and long-term exposure to harmful substances that quietly put lives at risk.

“Ban any importation of farm chemicals that are causing cancer in the country,” the statement reads

Kalonzo warns Ruto: ‘This is not how Singapore was built’

“Singapore was built on order, discipline, accountability, and a fierce intolerance for corruption — not the chaos, carelessness, and impunity we are witnessing today,” he said.

Kalonzo accused the government of mismanaging public finances through unrestrained borrowing, inflated or abandoned projects, and the weakening of oversight institutions, all of which he said have contributed to the country’s mounting fiscal challenges.

“Countries do not prosper by selling their inheritance; they prosper by protecting it. Kenya will not become the Singapore imagined by the current regime if this trend continues,” he said.

Kalonzo’s remarks came against the backdrop of President Ruto’s November 20 State of the Nation Address, in which the President said Kenya would emulate the economic rise of the Asian Tigers — Singapore, South Korea, Hong Kong and Malaysia.

Ruto cited macroeconomic gains, including reduced inflation, a more stable exchange rate, increased foreign reserves, higher foreign direct investment, and expanded social programs in health, education and housing.

“If they could rise, so can Kenya. It can [be] done,” Ruto said, adding that Kenya must abandon a culture of mediocrity and adopt the disciplined, bold decision-making that propelled the Asian Tigers to first-world status.

So Kenyans cannot aspire to live a better life with dignity in their country while Kalonzo Muysoka who has never held a job for a single day in his life other than getting taxpayer money working in government for 40 years lives like a king in in his Karen home. How many Kenyans live like that Mr. Muysoka?

And here is Kalonzo party in tears crying about what Ruto is doing to their king coming from media reports.

In a statement on Friday, the party argued that Ruto’s remarks expose how he is ‘politically cornered’ and is only attempting to use Kalonzo as a whipping boy to distract Kenyans from reprimanding his administration.

“Ruto knows what every Kenyan knows: his time is up. The people have made their choice. And in his desperation, he has unleashed his digital militia and propaganda machine in a futile attempt to destroy what he cannot buy: Kalonzo Musyoka’s integrity and the people’s trust,” the statement read in part.

“His attacks on Kalonzo Musyoka are not about development. They are the desperate flailing of a failed President who sees his defeat coming and is trying everything to capture opposition strongholds before Kenyans remove him from power in 2027.”

Wiper believes that the Kibwezi- Mutomo- Kitui-Bondoni road, an infrastructure at the heart of the duo’s tussle, was launched by Kalonzo in 2011 while he was Vice President but was later sabotaged by the Jubilee regime in 2013 when Ruto was Deputy President.

“The sabotage began (2013). Kalonzo revealed that elements within the Jubilee administration, Ruto’s regime, wrote to EXIM Bank of China terming the road “not economically viable” to kill the project. This was deliberate, calculated sabotage,” the party argued.

They claimed that the project was relaunched in December 2016 and President Ruto has no right to claim credit for the road’s construction.

Just complete waste of time by Kalonzo and his team now being drowned as Ruto gets real development moving on the ground while having some words for Mr. Musyoka.

”Akajaribu kujitetea. Bado nangojea majibu, hajanijibu. Barabara ya kuenda kwako umeshindwa, ya kuenda Ethiopia ndio utapanga?” Ruto posed.

LIVE:PRESIDENT RUTO HANDS OVER NEW MUKURU HOUSING UNITS — AFFORDABLE ...

While Kalonzo and the opposition was quibbling and struggling on how to attack Ruto for saying he wants Kenya to take the Singapore route to development, the man himself was in Mukuru Kwa Njenga handing 4,500 keys to Kenyans to move into brand new homes built in that place which a few years ago was the most terrible slum in the country.

In addition to the housing units, Ruto also handed over supporting public facilities at the estate, including modern police and fire stations, a well-equipped Level IV hospital, and a school.

The newly built 16-storey apartments feature modern amenities such as electricity, hot showers, Internet, and piped gas, underscoring the government’s push for planned urban estates with integrated services.

How that whole Mukuru place will look like two years from now given the housing and living infrastructure being built there now, is a huge headache to opposition leaders who cannot believe what they are seeing with their own eyes.

Maybe they should visit Singapore or at least go visit Mukuru folks who got the keys and talk to them in their new homes and see what it means to them and find out how things can get better in their homes. They are in Singapore now just like Kalonzo Musyoka is at his home in Karen in Nairobi.

Kenya’s ‘Singapore Dream’ Takes Shape as Ruto Hands Over 4,500 Affordable Homes in Mukuru

On December 18, 2025, President William Ruto handed over keys to more than 4,500 beneficiaries of the Affordable Housing Programme at New Mukuru in Nairobi, saying the project marks a major step in his pledge to transform Kenya into a “Singapore-status” country through modern, planned urban housing.

“The keys we are giving you today are not just keys to open a door of a house, but to open a decent home for you and your children,” Ruto said during the ceremony.

He added: “I am proud this evening that what has been a dream for many Kenyans, and in the plans of this nation for over 40 years, is now a reality. Welcome to dignity; welcome to a new life.”

The President said the government is building 14,000 affordable housing units at the New Mukuru site, noting that over 240,000 units are currently under construction countrywide.

Ruto commended young people working at the Mukuru site for their expertise and resilience.

“Congratulations for building our nation,” he said.

“We started this project less than two years ago. Just imagine what will happen in 10 or 20 years to come,” he said.

President Ruto is handing over 4,500 new homes to Kenyans after three years in office. Which Kenyan president has ever done that? All Kenyan presidents from Moi for 24 years and both Kibaki and Uhuru for 10 years each never handed a single new house to any Kenyan. Where does that put William Ruto in terms of competence in office as the Kenyan president today?
