DIKEMBE: The Luo Staying Inside the ODM-UDA Broadened Govt an Opportunity to Entrench Ourselves

Lower Kuja Rice Scheme, neglected for six decades, is now producing rice above the national average.

The poverty in Luo Nyanza has everything to do with the politics of our people and now, we are learning that government intervention is core to the progress of a people.

Any Luo leader talking of abandoning the ODM-UDA PACT is no different from those DCP party toxic tribalists still bitter and angry at Luo inclusion.

You must always remember that some Luo political leaders have become used to Luo poverty so long as they can get re-elected over and over on account of Luo exclusion.

The Luo is no longer suffering in exclusion and state-entrenched poverty. On the contrary, the development of projects domiciled in Luo Nyanza with the capacity to add to the national wealth is in high gear.

The Luo is no longer peripheral in the organization of the national economy. The Luo staying inside the ODM-UDA broadened government is an opportunity to entrench ourselves.

This should not be mistaken as a fight against any community. Murima minions like to interpret posts like this as pursuing some Luo dominance or nationalism. No, the Luo want a country developed from Moyale to Muhuru Bay.

We have no problem with the six (6) lane Mau Mau roads from Thika to Nyeri, nor will you hear any Luo opposed to whatever bequeath the Ruto years has extended to the GEMA country.

Yet we know there’s no reciprocity in this kind of thinking.

You listen to GEMA ideologues like Peter Kagwanja still mouthing utter rubbish on national TV and you know if he represents the majority GEMA view, then our only option is to do everything to destroy such a toxic ethnic nationalism, whatever the costs may be.

We must with utmost, in fact, fierce urgency, begin paying attention to what some Luo leaders, long used to the trappings of their legislative offices over the vast penury in Luo Nyanza, are offering as our best pathway to the future.

To them we say, “the Luo came in last. The Luo will leave when everyone else has left”.

Any attempt to prick Odinga’s conscience by people who have none, must be resisted by the rearguard army of the new Luo Union, providing important counterpunches to ensure that the Luo, now inside, stays inside. ONGE PUKO.

Congratulations Lower Kuja Rice Scheme. President Ruto pledged prosperity to those farmers last year, he’s delivering on that pledge.
