669 Kenyans apply for 4 vacant IEBC commissioner positions

The Selection Panel for the Selection of IEBC Commissioners has shortlisted names of members of the public who applied for the four vacant positions for commissioners of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission. The panel on Tuesday morning published the names of 669 Kenyans who qualified for the positions, according to set credentials.

”Pursuant to paragraph 3(1) of the First Schedule to the independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission Act 2011, the Selection Panel for the Appointment of Commissioners of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission
(2021) hereby publishes the names of all persons who applied for the four (4) vacancies in the position of Member of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission and their qualifications, by the deadline of Monday, 17th May 2021 at 5:00 p.m,” the selection panel said in a statement on Tuesday.

At the close of the application period, the Selection Panel had received over seven hundred (700) applications by hand delivery, post, and email. After collating all the applications it received, the panel found that some applicants made multiple applications and trimmed the number to six hundred and sixty-nine (669).
