Bungoma Senator and Ford-Kenya party leader Moses Wetangula has hit out at Defense Cabinet Secretary Eugene Wamalwa over what he says was meddling with the affairs of his party.
Speaking in Nakuru county after holding a two-day retreat with the lion’s party national officials, the Bungoma senator claimed CS Wamalwa has bankrolled the break-away Ford-Kenya faction led by Kanduyi MP Wafula Wamunyinyi and his Tongaren counterpart Eseli Simiyu.
”Those rebels who left the party are no longer members of the party, and they have announced themselves that they have picked another outfit. They are running around with one Eugene Wamalwa who against the legal principles and constitutional constraints has registered a political party that he is hawking around and they have settled on it as their new refuge,” Wetangula said on Sunday at the Lake Elementaita Lodge.

Last week on Thursday, Wamunyinyi, and Simiyu announced they had left the FORD-Kenya Party following continuous wrangles by two opposing factions within the outfit, one led by Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula and the other by MP Wamunyinyi. The two leaders also disclosed they will unveil a new political party on December 14th this year after leaving FORD.
“We will unveil the new party during our NDC on December 14 and you will shortly know the details of the new outfit,” MP Wafula Wamunyinyi said, adding that continued wrangling in the Ford-K party was not healthy as the country heads to next year’s polls.
The new party is expected to back Raila for the presidency next year.
