United Nations Security Council (UNSC) for the First Time Votes for a Palestinian State Within the Framework of Ceasefire in Gaza

The most horrifying moment for Israel and Bibi Netanyahu, their Prime Minister, was to see the two hands from UK and the US representatives at the UNSC raised to support a peace plan for Gaza that would lead to the establishment of a Palestinian State.

The two words that Israel never wants to hear at the UN level and in this case the very powerful UNSC are “Palestinian State”. Israel always believe they have a veto power at the UNSC because there has never been any UNSC resolution not approved by Israel passed at the UNSC because effectively by the US handing over their veto power to Israel it has been the same as having Benjamin Netanyahu as the US ambassador at the UNSC. Terrible, isn’t it?

That veto power for Israel is really what has relentlessly sustained the Israeli occupation of Palestine. As a matter of fact USA giving veto power to Israel has effectively rendered the United Nations as an organization for peace in the world, pretty toothless.

Israel is now in a state of shock because President Trump is willing to avoid misusing the UNSC veto to protect their obvious crimes that the whole world can see as it happens on live TV this time from 2023 till now.

UN ambassadors and representatives vote during a United Nations Security Council meeting on a US-drafted resolution on the Gaza plan in New York on Monday.

The 15-member council voted 13 to 0 in favor of the resolution, with abstentions by Russia and China, which declined to use their veto power to block the measure.

The resolution was intended to add international legitimacy to US President Donald Trump’s 20-point Gaza plan, parts of which formed the basis of the ceasefire that took effect in the Gaza Strip last month. The United States had lobbied hard for its passage, which was praised by Trump in a lengthy post on social media.

“Congratulations to the World on the incredible Vote of the United Nations Security Council, just moments ago, acknowledging and endorsing the BOARD OF PEACE, which will be chaired by me, and include the most powerful and respected Leaders throughout the World,” Trump wrote.

The resolution authorized elements of the plan, including the establishment of the “Board of Peace” as a transitional authority and the creation of a temporary International Stabilization Force (ISF) in Gaza.

Trump said that “the members of the Board, and many more exciting announcements, will be made in the coming weeks.”

Some diplomatic sources said the resolution will help grant the authority for countries to participate in the ISF, as it will now have UN backing.

US Ambassador to the UN Michael Waltz said that the ISF, “a strong coalition of peacekeepers, many from Muslim majority nations like Indonesia, Azerbaijan and others,” will deploy to Gaza “under a unified command” in order to “secure Gaza streets and escort aid through safe corridors.”

Notably, the resolution also contains a reference to Palestinian statehood, stating that “after the (Palestinian Authority) reform program is faithfully carried out and Gaza redevelopment has advanced, the conditions may finally be in place for a credible pathway to Palestinian self-determination and statehood.”

“The United States will establish a dialogue between Israel and the Palestinians to agree on a political horizon for peaceful and prosperous coexistence,” the draft said.

Ahead of the voteWaltz the US rep and the UNSC warned that “a vote against this resolution is a vote to return to war.” He applauded its passage, saying it “represents another significant step towards a stable Gaza that will be able to prosper, and an environment that will allow Israel to live in security.”

After vote, Hamas said that giving any stabilization force “tasks and roles inside the Gaza Strip, including disarming the resistance, strips it of its neutrality and turns it into a party to the conflict.”

One big problem even today for people still alive in Gaza and for whole world to deal with is that Gaza is now a graveyard with thousands of bodies rotting beneath the rabbles that cover every part of Gaza.

There are endless mass graves in the area and for Israel to try to have a chance at the Internation Court for Justice (ICJ) hearing, Netanyahu’s idea was to fully occupy Gaza for the next few years if not permanently.

By IDF occupying Gaza, Israel was hoping they will track down all those dead bodies lying all over the Strip and some in mass graves in Gaza and burn them to help reduce the evidence of genocide already piling up at the ICJ.

Trump killed that plan by imposing the ceasefire and now moving towards a peace process and in a few weeks, the international media will pour all over Gaza particularly in the areas controlled by the International Peace Forces over which Israel has no say and the media is going to unravel the real horror in Gaza that is being hidden because Netanyahu is terrified of the world seeing the real ugly images and evidence of how people have been massacred during the two year genocide and going on.

Waltz said after the passage of the resolution that the Board of Peace “will coordinate the delivery of humanitarian assistance, facilitate Gaza’s development and support a technocratic committee of Palestinians responsible for day-to-day operations of Gaza civil service and administration while the Palestinian Authority fully implements its reform program.

Hamas rejects UN Gaza resolution, says international force would become party to conflict

After the resolution was adopted by the UNSC with a lot of praise from the Trump team, Benjamin Netanyahu must have been in tears and probably needed to be consoled. At this point Israel was desperately hoping that Hamas accepts the UNSC resolution and praises it as good. Then Netanyahu and the entire Palestinian occupation worshippers would descend on the UN with vitriol and attacks that they are doing something that has made Hamas happy and that means it is a very evil thing.

Benjamin Netanyahu has a very weird relationship with Hamas Leaders many of whom he has killed in in the last two years of Israel attacks in Gaza.

At some point in the last few years Netanyahu was providing money in millions of dollars directly to Hamas to save them from a collapse which could force ways for Israeli negotiations with the Palestinian Authority (PA) under the leadership of Mohammed Abbas.

One key element of such negotiations would be to create conditions at the UN and other international organizations working for a two-state solution for the 77 year old military occupation of Palestine to come up with ways of realizing a Palestinian nationhood and State now.

Not long ago, Netanyahu funded Hamas to make sure that never happens and Hamas keeps fighting the PA.

Netanyahu now is facing the prospect that the same Hamas he funded and had a love hate relationship with is now on the verge of creating the conditions for the pathway to a Palestinian State.

If Netanyahu loses the forthcoming battle at the ICJ and Israel is found guilty of genocide and committing crimes against humanity, Israel officially becomes a terrorist state with huge consequences for the country.

When that happens Hamas would have “Total Victory” over Israel and will be remembered as the Super Power which brought mighty Israel to its knees in the battlefield as hundreds of thousands of Palestinians in Gaza sacrificed everything including their lives to the occupation and helped to end it.

For years, Netanyahu propped up Hamas. Now it’s blown up in his face

From media reports, for years, the various governments led by Benjamin Netanyahu took an approach that divided power between the Gaza Strip and the West Bank — bringing Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas to his knees while making moves that propped up the Hamas terror group.

The idea was to prevent Abbas — or anyone else in the Palestinian Authority’s West Bank government — from advancing toward the establishment of a Palestinian state.

Thus, amid this bid to impair Abbas, Hamas was upgraded from a mere terror group to an organization with which Israel held indirect negotiations via Egypt, and one that was allowed to receive infusions of cash from abroad.

At this nerve cracking moment for Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu would have been thrilled if he could provide money to Hamas so that they accept the UN resolution then Israel and all the worshippers of the Israeli occupation would be screaming very loudly that if Hamas has accepted the Gaza peace plan then it must be something evil and should be rejected by all countries.

Now Hamas saying “No” which is a big win for those who came up with the plan because they never expected Hamas to accept it and it makes no difference. On the other hand, Netanyahu who badly wanted the process to flop has no means to make that happen.

Hamas official Osama Hamdan speaks during an interview with AFP in Istanbul on September 15, 2024.

According to their leadership, Hamas rejected the clause in US President Donald Trump’s Gaza peace plan regarding its disarmament, claiming that it was not part of the original negotiations.

“No clause regarding the disarmament of the resistance was on the table in the Sharm El-Sheikh negotiations,” Senior Hamas official Osama Hamdan told the Qatari outlet. “It is unacceptable that we be imposed with the equation of either we are killed or we surrender.”

Hamdan further claimed that Hamas had contacted members of the United Nations Security Council to discuss its “observations on the American draft resolution.”

Palestinian factions released a statement on Tuesday afternoon also condemning the vote, viewing the move as a “tool of guardianship and an international partnership in the genocide of [the Palestinian] people.”

US Ambassador to the United Nations Michael Waltz responded to Hamas’s rejection of the disarmament clause, calling its refusal of the peace deal “proof that it is a good plan.”

President Trump is maybe a nightmare to the US folks in terms of what he is doing or going to do next. For Banjamin Netanyahu Trump is now the guardian in his hope to overcome all problems he faces from ICC, ICJ and a Gaza population he has tried to eliminate by killing them and destroying everything that supports human life in the place but they are still hanging around almost eating stones from the rubbles to stay alive.

But Trump has his own priorities and when that clashes with what Netanyahu wants in Gaza, Trump just walks over him like he did with forcing the ceasefire and moving IDF to a small area in Gaza. President Trump thinks he can get a Nobel Peace Prize for bringing peace in the Middle East. If Netanyahu tries to stand on Trump’s imaginary trip to the Nobel Prize he will be tossed out of the gate.

And of course Trump has also agreed to provide F 35 fighter jets to Saudi Arabia, something Israel does not want because they want Israel to be the only country in the Middle East which has those kinds of fighter jets.

The Saudis have money and Trump always loves that, so Israel can take a back seat on the fighter jet deliveries to Saudi Arabia. In any event Israel always gets the same F 35 fighter jets for free as donations to them from US presidents as American taxpayers takes the blow, but Saudi Arabia are paying billions to buy the same jets. Nobody is going to stop Trump on that.

Trump dismisses question about Khashoggi being killed by the Crown Prince Salman during a media question time at the White House as they were talking about the ongoing peace plan in Gaza.

Prince bin Salman while willing to accept to work with Israel after joining the Abraham Accords, made clear that wasn’t happening now, or any time before a clear pathway exists for an independent Palestinian state. That is the catch frame for Israel who would love Saudi Arabia to join hands with them and also embrace the Israeli occupation but never talk about a Palestinian State.

On the good side for Trump, the crown prince did say he would increase Saudi Arabia’s investment pledge in the United States from the $600 billion announced in May to $1 trillion – a massive figure that’s nearly the kingdom’s entire yearly economic output. With President Trump money talks louder than whispered agreements with Israel to safeguard their occupation enterprise.

Right now President Trump and the Crown Prince are tied at the neck and Netanyahu cannot stop that otherwise Israel would have just launched their 2,000 lb bombs (from the US) to knock the hell out of Trump at Mara-Lago and that matter would end there. Not this time, what next is the question.

As things stand at the moment Netanyahu is getting a beating from everywhere as Trump refuses to back down on his peace process in Gaza and supports the UNSC resolution on working towards a Palestinian State. In the meantime, the extremist criminal elements in the government today including National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir are publicly calling for the government to assassinate Palestinian leaders working for the two-state solutions.

The issue now is on how the Donald Trump Peace plan in Gaza and the Middle East can involve all parties and achieve their goals. It is tough for everybody to understand. If you asked me as a grandfather to tell you how the various parties should handle the Donald Trump Peace plan, I would say I have a plan.

In my plan I will assume that my young grandson and his football team are facing a big football game and they want some help on how to win that match and I have to talk to the young one.

My advise to my grandson first would be to tell him not to bother to know what is happening in the game. Go there and wait for the ball. If the ball is hanging around try to kick it anyway you can and it doesn’t matter whether it is a right or left foot kick. If you have to just head the ball in one direction or another do that quickly.

I suspect that is what is happening with the Trump plan in Gaza and the Middle East. Everybody is just kicking the ball whichever way it goes as long as Donald Trump is happy.

To be frank, I have no idea if the ballgame plan with my grandson could work for Trump, Netanyahu, Prince Salman and Hamas as well as the UN. But at least we have thrown a plan out there for them to consider. Let them give the world their plan and then we can all talk about what is best for the suffering Palestinian people in Gaza and the West Bank today.

And don’t forget this wipe out massacres in Gaza by Netanyahu started with Joe Biden delivering the bombs to Netanyahu as much as he wanted.
