Raila who is the Kenyan candidate for the African Union Commission (AUC) chairmanship was accompanied by government officials including Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi and the Principal Secretary for Foreign Affairs Korir.
Politics is very dangerous business because you never know what happens next. In the Raila Odinga AUC chairman bid there are a whole bunch of politicians in Kenya who wanted him to loose that bid.
Some were doing that for purely tribal instincts that define their lives and politics. Others wanted Raila to fail so that President Ruto’s dedicated campaign flops.
Well Raila Odinga did not make it to be the chairman of AUC and he is now back home and all of a sudden the political goons who wanted him to loose that bid are scared because they know that political giant in Kenya is back and could very well help decide the political fate in the country in the 2027 elections even without running for a seat himself. The Raila haters got their wish and now they will have to live with it. That cannot be bad, can it?
The Wamunyoro Rebellion Party and Theatre in Nyeri will soon be back but all of a sudden they are not taking that centre stage which has now been taken by Raila Odinga as Kenyans look to see where his post AUC politics is heading to.
If Raila and President Ruto decide to work together and clear up things to move in the right direction for Kenyans and particularly the Kenyan youth the rest will be history. Everybody knows that including those two politicians.
The Wamunyoro squad who genuinely hate Raila Odinga finally came forward at the end of the AUC bid to say they have no problem with Raila winning the seat but Kenyans know where they stand and right now, they are hurting because they know Raila is something else in Kenya politics which started before some of them were even born.
Raila Odinga has been fighting for a free Kenya for the last 43 years and 9 of those years he was in detention. The man knows one or two things about the politics of the country. That is for sure.
Imagine Raila was doing this kind of thing everyday at his Opoda Farm. He would be considered a joke in the politics of the nation. But there you go. These guys think this is Kenyan opposition party at its best. Good luck.

Kalonzo Muysoka who could be with the Wamunyoro mob or go for it by himself with Wiper in 2027 was totally confused abut Raila and the AUC. First Kalonzo ordered Raila Odinga to make sure he quits politics in Kenya if he looses the AUC bid. Then after Raila loses the bid the same Kalonzo says he wants Raila to come and help him liberate Kenya. Which is which?

There has been a lot of twitter noise about Raila Odinga betraying the Gen Z freedom fighters who in June 2024 came up to stop the Ruto government from imposing the Finance Bill 2024 which was about raising taxes everywhere and offering nothing to the citizens.
Young Kenyans went to the National Assembly and fought a very tough battle which they won when President Ruto withdrew the Finance Bill.
Raila Odinga would have been stupid to jump into that battle and claim leadership for something the youth started on their own. It would be the highest level of opportunism for Raila to just jump in there and seek publicity. He did not do that and it is a good thing for him.
In any event Raila Odinga led the anti-Ruto Saba Saba rebellion in 2023 and it was a very tight battle with brutal consequences for Kenyans.
Making of IEBC amid pressure to deliver credible 2027 elections

The Chair IEBC selection panel Dr Nelson Makanda joins his colleagues in addressing the press on 11/2/25 in Naivasha on the selection of new IEBC commissioners. The panel has assured the country that there will be a new electoral body in office by the end of April 2025.
The other thing that Raila Odinga and Ruto needs to work on is creating jobs for young Kenyans. It seems that the current CS for Labour is an employment agent for the Middle East countries, specifically Qatar.
CS Mutua announces 1,260 jobs for Kenyans in Qatar

Labour and Social Protection Cabinet Secretary Alfred Mutua has announced 1,260 job vacancies for Kenyans in Qatar, paying up to Sh74,000 per month.
Mutua said medical, transport and accommodation will be provided by company.
He noted that a processing fee equivalent to one month’s basic salary applies, covering medical examinations and other pre-departure expenses.
If CS Mutua’s job is to get Kenyans to Qatar, can the Ruto government appoint another CS for Labour whose job will be to get Kenyans to work in their country.
