On Friday, Wiper Leader Kalonzo Musyoka confirmed efforts are currently underway to revamp the former NASA into a new outfit, with other leaders on board. The former Vice President was speaking at the funeral of former Kibwezi MP Kalembe Ndile in Makueni county, accompanied by Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu and ODM leader Raila Odinga.
The new super alliance is expected to bring together Musalia Mudavadi, Kalonzo Musyoka, Raila Odinga, Moses Wetangula, and Gideon Moi. According to sources, Isaac Ruto of Chama Cha Mashinani is crafting a coalition agreement with William Ruto and his outfit is expected to be a part of the larger United Democratic Alliance led by the DP. CCM is currently part of the Jubilee Coalition and working agreement with the ruling party, just like KANU and Wiper.
Those pushing for a revamped NASA want ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi and his Wiper counterpart Kalonzo Musyoka to be the Prime Minister and Deputy President respectively under Raila Odinga. Last week, some of the close allies of Mr. Musyoka confided to this publication the Wiper Leader will not go for the top seat and had settled for the PM’s position if the BBI referendum goes through.
Speaking on Friday at the same funeral attended by Mr. Musyoka and Mr. Odinga, Kitui Governor urged Ukambani leaders to join hands and negotiate with the ODM leader ahead of 2022, to avoiding a beating from William Ruto.
”I will ensure I craft a formula that would see Kalonzo and Raila in one team. I do not want to be part of the Hustler nation. If any of the three; Kalonzo, Kibwana, and Mutua run for presidency alone, they would be defeated,” Governor Charity Ngilu warned.
