Over 50 Motorcycles and Vehicles Set for Auction in Embu and Machakos

More than 50 motorcycles and motor vehicles are set to go under the hammer in Embu and Machakos counties after remaining uncollected in police stations for months.

In a gazette notice dated August 26, Petfriend Auctioneers announced plans to dispose of 15 motorcycles lying idle at the Kiritiri Police Station in Embu within 14 days if their owners fail to reclaim them. The brands include Captain, Sonlink, Tiger, Hadjin, Skygo, TVS, and Boxer.

The auctioneers cited the Disposal of Uncollected Goods Act (Cap. 38) and a court order under Miscellaneous Application Case No. E39 of 2025 at the Principal Magistrate’s Court in Siakago. “If the aforesaid motorcycles will not be collected at the expiry of this notice, the same shall be sold by public auction or private treaty… without any further notice,” the statement read.

Petfriend Auctioneers also revealed plans to auction more than 40 motorcycles, 6 motor vehicles, bicycles, scrap, and carts currently stored at the Matuu Police Station in Machakos County. The motorcycles include popular makes such as Ranger, Skygo, Dayun, Bajaj, Flyjet, Honda, Yamaha, Tiger, Shineray, Boxer, Delight, and Jincheng.

The vehicles set for auction include Toyota Sprinter, Mazda, Nissan Sunny, Toyota G, Mercedes E190, and a wrecked Kast. These auctions will proceed within 30 days under authority granted by the Principal Magistrate’s Court in Kithimani (Miscellaneous Application Case No. E113/2025).

Separately, Wotech Kenya Limited issued a notice that it will dispose of uncollected submersible pumps, motors, cables, surface pumps, control panels, and water meters stored at its Athi River offices. The firm has given owners until September 22 to collect their items, after which they will be auctioned or donated.
