Raila Odinga has directed all Azimio campaign teams to get streamlined with the main secretariat led by Executive Director Raphael Tuju, a move that will see the former prime minister reward his Mt Kenya loyalists with campaign financing.
Speaking on Wednesday in Muranga at a meeting with Azimio aspirants, Mr. Odinga acknowledged that despite campaigning for his candidature in Mt Kenya being a tall order, a number of leaders allied to him and President Uhuru Kenyatta have stuck to the cause to ensure he gets votes from the populous block.
”We want foot soldiers who are brave and optimistic. In Mt Kenya we know it might be tougher than in other areas. But keep the faith and remain committed to the cause. We have other fronts that are performing very well in this war and I guarantee you that we are winning,” Mr. Odinga said adding that those who had shown commitment to the Azimio cause will get enough ‘guns and bullets’ (financing) so as to face the battle.

“Those who have shown commitment will get lots of ammo from me. Do not have any doubts about that. I have since directed that we get ward, constituency, and county campaign committees and sync them with the presidential campaign secretariat that has former Jubilee Party secretary-general Raphael Tuju as the executive director,” he added.
Gatanga MP Nduati Ngugi had earlier on told Mr. Odinga Azimio’s activities around Mt Kenya had de-escalated because they had run out of ammo in their war against UDA.
