Former Nairobi governor Mike Sonko has been left heartbroken following an incident in Mathare where a man was brutally murdered.
The victim, identified as Michael, was taking his child to school on Monday, January 20, when thugs attacked him.
In a statement, Sonko said the incident had really heartbroken him, given the little boy watched helplessly as his father was killed.
“This has really heartbroken, my💔 💔. I have been saddened by this story of a little boy whose father was stabbed and killed by suspected thugs while taking him to school in the Mathare 4A area on Monday morning,” Sonko said.
Sonko, known for helping the poor, expressed his willingness to support the child, given he is now an orphan.
He said the child should be taken to him so that he could continue to support the him. That is kindness and I am sure Sonko will be willing to support the kid even if he stays with his family in Kisii.
“Since the child has now been left an orphan as usual, let him be brought to me. I will pick from where the father left off and continue raising the child. May the Lord rest the soul of the father of this little boy child in eternal peace. May the thugs who committed this heinous act never have peace for the rest of their lives.” the former governor added.
