If Rigathi Gachagua wanted a huge Christmas gift, Kithure Kindiki just delivered one for him to remember after he retires from politics in 2027.
Kindiki had mass rallies giving food and great respect to Kenyans in his Mt. Kenya region all day before the Christmas Day.
When Kindiki was taking over the Deputy Presidential job from impeached Gachagua, there were those who wanted to project that battle as a landslide win for Gachagua because Kindiki was not going to be able to stand up to the loud and noisy Gachagua, who had declared the Mt. Kenya region as his personal village where everybody was going to follow him and ignore that Kindiki even exists.
Gachagua went on with his Mt. Kenya crusade without really going anywhere else in the country, except for having a tour in Western Kenya, which ended badly because he (Gachagua) refused to take the trip to Kisii area and Fred Matiang’i was left fuming because he wanted the whole opposition group to go to his strong hold areas after they went all over Western.
For some reason Gachagua did not want to go there, and the Kisii leg of the trip was cancelled. Incidentally, the United Opposition team has never gone for a campaign tour in Kisii, which is part of the internal pissing fights in the opposition, where Matiang’i is already being attacked even publicly by Gachagua.
When Kindiki took over the DP job after Gachagua was impeached in 2024, there was a sense that William Ruto might pick someone else, given that Raila Odinga and the ODM party had come to support the president to stabilize the country during the Gen Z uprising over financial problems in the country.
Gachagua himself, who was desperate to portray President Ruto as having betrayed Mt. Kenya voters whom Gachagua claimed he collected to make Ruto the president, would have been pleased if Ruto chose somebody from outside the Mt. Kenya political groups to be the new DP after him. That was going to be his calling cry about how President Ruto was betraying Kikuyus. Having Kithure Kindiki as the new DP was not good for Gachagua, and he was going to make Kindiki’s life in politics miserable.
As fate would have it, for both Gachagua and the new DP Kithure Kindiki, the by-elections were declared by the IEBC, and Mbeere North constituency became Gachagua’s political Mecca. He was going to go there in Kindiki’s home ground and crash him in the elections, and predictably took time to settle in Mbeere North.
As a matter of fact, Rigathi Gachagu,a who had been in the US trying to tell President Trump to come and arrest Kenya president and put sanctions on Kenya, had to run out of the US to come and get their United Opposition candidates elected in the by-elections.
The opposition group lost Mbeere North, humiliating Gachagua personally, and they did not win even one MP seat out of the seven elected on that day. Now, Kindiki goes for that big party for Christmas, he is threatening the life of Rigathi Gachagua, who could go nuts and harm himself.
Gachagua needs help right now, and I am going to try to figure that out. I am a health worker by profession, and he wouldn’t need to pay me. This is going to be a humanitarian effort. That will be my Christmas Gift to Rigathi Gachagua.
Now I need a motor bike to travel from Toronto in Canada, where I live, to Wamunyoro. I need that quick. I will swim through the Indian Ocean to make the trip faster if necessary. Please help.
