Gachagua wades into Sifuna-Babu tensions, urges unity in Linda Mwananchi
Speaking from his new headquarters in the USA, Rigathi Gachagua has urged Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna and Embakasi East MP Babu Owino to contain growing differences among their supporters, warning that divisions could weaken the Linda Mwananchi movement ahead of the 2027 General Election.
Gachagua said he had separately spoken to Sifuna and Babu by phone from the United States and urged them to engage their supporters following exchanges between their camps.
His remarks come amid reported disagreements over the political vehicle the movement will use in the 2027 elections.
Gachagua alleged that some State operatives had infiltrated Linda Mwananchi and were seeking to divide the movement, but he did not provide evidence to support the claim.
“I know there is a small challenge within Linda Mwananchi between supporters of Edwin Sifuna and Babu Owino, trading barbs and insulting each other,” Gachagua said.
“I placed a call to Sifuna, and I had a long chat with him and the same to Babu. I told them your movement is being infiltrated by some State operatives and your supporters are quickly falling for it.”
The DCP leader said he had asked the two politicians to caution their supporters against trading insults and instead focus on maintaining unity within the movement.
“They are in agreement with me that we must do whatever it takes to stop our supporters from being divided,” he said.
Gachagua also said he had asked Nyandarua Senator John Methu to join the discussions between the two leaders in an effort to ease tensions.
One reality that has stuck the opposition right at the heart is that when the goonism nonsense and attacks as well as internal gang fighting was completely removed from the opposition rallies of Linda group last weekend, they finally had a chance to talk to Kenyans and tell the country what they intend to achieve if they win the presidency. It was fun and talk time and it was an opportunity to lay everything on the table.
The talking boiled down to who is the leader of the team not so much what they intend to achieve for Kenyans. James Orengo hardly said anything and only talked about meeting Sifuna later to decide who the Linda team presidential candidate will be for them when they try talking with the rest of the opposition.

Babu Owino big message during the rallies and since has been that his ambition is to be the next Nairobi County governor and that he has his own political party for that purpose.
There was no big item story from Linda which means they are still getting their stuff together to launch their big campaign for the presidency and taking over the Kenya government.
President William Ruto must have realized that the goon violence, police tear gas and disruption of Linda Mwanainchi or any other opposition rallies was the dumbest mistake from his government.
Leave those politicians to hold their rallies in peace and they hardly have anything much to talk to Kenyans about other than sorting out their own internal problems.
While all sorts of politics has been going on, President William Ruto was in a massive meet the people tour that took him to Bomet, Kericho and a four day blitz across Nyanza.
The president was opening markets, health centres, Lake Victoria water travelling systems and a gazillion other things he has done in the region in four years as their president and as part of the broad based government work in the country.
Ruto set for major Nyanza meeting as Kisumu Port turns sea of political colours

As all these was going on in the country with President Ruto talking to Kenyans about what he has achieved for them and what he plans to do if he gets re-elected in 2027, the United Opposition which is supposed to be the “Alternative Government in Waiting” was nowhere to be seen other than Gachagua dancing somewhere in the USA. Wonderful for the opposition, isn’t it?

Gachagua’s next opposition chief now in the country with his boss in the USA, Steven Kalonzo Musyoka has been happy being dead politically at home and just sitting in his Nairobi office doing nothing.
Kalonzo finally had something to do when his other boss Uhuru Kenyatta was attacked by President Ruto as being a sponsor of opposition groups for his own personal interests.
Kalonzo defends Uhuru, says he has right to speak his mind

In the media today, Wiper Patriotic Front Party Leader Kalonzo Musyoka has defended former President Uhuru Kenyatta against criticism from President William Ruto, saying the retired president has a right to speak on political issues.
He said Uhuru should not be attacked for expressing his views, particularly after the former president stated that he had no interest in seeking political office.
“Kwa sababu Uhuru ako na haki ya kuongea vile ameongea hapa bila kudhulumiwa, kwa sababu ameonyesha uongozi bwana. Amesema wazi hataki kiti chochote,” Kalonzo said.
The Wiper leader then turned to the 2027 General Election, declaring that Ruto would serve only one term.
“Siku hizi ambazo zimesalia mia tatu hamsini na moja, kwamba huyu kiongozi ambaye ako pale, ambaye anasikia kwamba anaumwa kila akisikia jina la Uhuru Kenyatta, huyo tunamfanya one term!” he said.
Kalonzo asked the crowd whether they supported the “one term” call before adding that he was prepared for a direct political contest.
“Kwa hivyo Bwana Ruto, ikiwa ni mimi Kalonzo, itakuwa mundu ku mundu. Si lazima aende?” he said.
“Mkipima wale watu, ule sponsor wao, alishindwa na maneno ya Affordable Housing? Alishindwa na mambo ya Universal Health Coverage? Alishindwa na maneno ya kusomesha watoto wetu?” Ruto said.
He further dismissed opposition calls for a one-term presidency, saying Kenyans should judge leaders by their record.
“Kila kiongozi anapimwa na kazi amefanya. Hakuna mtu atakuja kututapeli hapa ati kasongo, one term, must go, alafu tumpe kazi, hiyo ni ufala bana,” Ruto said.
President Ruto has to look at the events in the last ten days and realize that if he is going to put his achievements and agenda to Kenyans every day in the campaign going to 2027 elections on August 10, 2027 and the opposition has an opportunity to put their zero agenda for Kenyans in peace and no problems Kenyans will choose the best option they have and that looks pretty good for William Ruto.
