Allies of former NASA principals Musalia Mudavadi, Kalonzo Musyoka and Moses Wetangula have been locked out of the 2022 power talks between President Uhuru and Raila Odinga camps, this publication can authoritatively reveal.

In these new high-level talks between the Head of State and the former PM, a working formula is expected to be crafted, which will see the two camps field one presidential candidate, Uhuru’s Jubilee party kicking off a massive membership recruitment drive as well as having new party officials by August.

Uhuru and Raila, sources reveal, are determined to split the Mt Kenya vote if the Head of State cannot fully regain it from DP Ruto by 2022.

According to Suna East Junet Mohammed, in as much as other political players, including former NASA principals are welcome to be part of the new alliance being cobbled up, the current talks are strictly between President Uhuru and HE Raila Odinga.

On his part, Jubilee Secretary General, Raphael Tuju says the two teams have the blessings of President Uhuru and Raila Odinga and they are ready to have other parties on board once the two leaders have agreed on modalities of formation of the new political outfit.

“We have the blessings of President Kenyatta and the ODM leader. That is why we work together in the National Assembly and Senate. If other parties want to be in an alliance with Jubilee and ODM, we are ready to have them on board,” Mr. Tuju says.

Another source within the president’s camp reveal the Head of State’s strategists are working on having all the former NASA principals as well as Gideon Moi in one camp. Then declare whom he will endorse, and rally the remaining principals to back the choice in 2022.
