No Kenyan I know will ever pay attention to what Moses Kuria says specifically on matters of law and elections in our country. I am one of them never mind that he is the Senior Economic Advisor to President William Ruto.
There is no doubt in my mind that William Ruto has not met him even once for any advise since he was appointed to that post. That is how useless the man is for everybody including himself.
In the media the other day Kuria speaking via a statement shared on social media, cited the Kriegler Report and the current legal stalemate over the appointment of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) commissioners as indicators that the country may not be prepared to hold credible polls in 2027
Kuria added that “In another 39 days, we will start the 24-month countdown to the 2027 elections,”
“Going by our litigious nature, this case will go all the way to the Supreme Court. It may go on till September 2027.”
Moses Kuria was referring to the ongoing court case that has blocked the swearing-in of IEBC commissioners, despite Parliament having been allowed to vet and approve the nominees.
Justice Lawrence Mugambi recently ruled that while the vetting process may proceed, the actual swearing-in of the officials must remain on hold pending the resolution of a legal petition challenging the recruitment process.
In his response to Kuria, Kalonzo Musyoka had a few words for him. “What knowledge is Moses Kuria relying on to claim that there will be no election? This is someone who must be called out directly. If he knows there will be a problem in this country, let him come out and say it, because the Constitution is clear,” Musyoka stated.
He accused Kuria of deliberately stoking public fear and attempting to lay the groundwork for unconstitutional extensions of power.
Kalonzo went on to state that “Kenyans have decided that this shenanigans about stolen elections must come to an end. There will be elections under the constitution by 2027 or even before if William Ruto steps aside because that is also an option,” he stated.

President Mwai Kibaki With Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka During The Kati Kati Man in 2008
Kenya is now quietly pushing that Africa pulls out of Rome Statute and instead establish a new joint court that will be handling crimes against humanity within the continent.
Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka, who has been leading Kenya’s shuttle diplomacy seeking a deferral of the cases against the Ocampo six suspects, has hinted that establishing an African Court of justice was being explored.
“Africa is keenly following the Kenyan situation at the ICC. If the UN Security Council does not respect Kenya’s plea over the ICC, the African Union will meet in July and will review its membership of the ICC,” said Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka.
“In fact, Africa will set up a continental court for crimes against humanity,” added the VP during the final prayers for Deputy Prime Minister Uhuru Kenyatta and Eldoret North MP William Ruto in Gatundu this week before the two left for The Hague to answer ICC summons.
Yes and Yes again that is the same Kalonzo Musyoka who is now shouting about taking people to the ICC as his way of appealing to Gen Z activists. What were you doing fighting the ICC in 2008, Mr. Musyoka?
The war between Kalonzo and Kuria was because Kuria had earlier posted on social media, expressing concern over the court’s suspension of the swearing-in of new IEBC commissioners.
As we all know the General Elections will be held in 2027 but Kalonzo misses the big picture which surprises nobody who has followed Kalonzo’s politics in the last 20 years when he has been dreaming of being a presidential material and has been complaining endlessly about how has sacrificed his presidential candidacy for others.
What exactly does the Kriegler Report say about having free and fair elections after their work following the 2007/8 massacre of Kenyans after Kibaki rigged himself to get second term as president of our country and Kalonzo joined him as his Vice President.
As a matter of fact there would be no Kriegler Report at all if Kenyans didn’t fight for electoral reforms because Kalonzo Musyoka saw the terrible violence in the country as an opportunity for him to enter State House and he became Mr. Kati Kati joining Kibaki as his Vice President.
The Kriegler Report, officially known as the Report of the Independent Review Commission on the General Elections in Kenya, was a report commissioned in 2008 to investigate the disputed presidential election results and the subsequent violence.
The team found that the electoral process was severely compromised by various irregularities, including voter registration issues, constituency delimitation problems, and widespread malpractices like bribery and intimidation. The report concluded that the results were so tainted that it was impossible to determine a reliable winner.

Justice Johann Kriegler
Here’s a more detailed breakdown:
- Purpose of the Kriegler Commission:The commission was established to investigate the conduct of the elections and to determine the extent of irregularities and malpractices. The report detailed numerous requirements for Kenyan elections to be free and fair
- Defective Voter Register: It excluded a significant number of eligible voters and included names of deceased individuals.
- Constituency Delimitation Problems: Problems with how electoral boundaries were drawn.
- Widespread Malpractices: Bribery, vote buying, intimidation, and ballot stuffing were widespread.
- Incompetent Electoral Commission: The Electoral Commission of Kenya was criticized for its handling of the process.
- Impact:The report’s findings were crucial in understanding the causes of the post-election violence and in shaping subsequent electoral reforms.
- Recommendations:The Kriegler Report made recommendations for electoral reforms, including improvements to the voter registration process, constituency delimitation, and the overall conduct of elections.
- Relationship to the Waki Report:The Kriegler Report focused on the electoral process, while the Waki Report (Commission of Inquiry into Post-Election Violence) focused on the violence itself. Both reports were important for understanding the 2007 crisis and for guiding future reforms.
- Krigler Report also demanded that the IEBC has to functional two years before the General Elections
I don’t know which world Moses Kuria has been living in because if he is in Kenya he would have noticed that not a single recommendation in the Kriegler Report has been implemented by any of the presidents Kenya has had since the report was published in 2008.
We had the 2012 elections that took Uhuru Kenyatta to State House and there was nothing about Krielger Report being implemented. Kenyans also held the horrible elections of 2017 where Fred Matiang’i now Kalonzo’s buddy killed many Kenyans including children to put Uhuru in office until the Supreme Court threw that garbage election through the window when Uhuru’s alleged victory was declared unlawful and ordered for a new Presidential election in 2008.
Raila Odinga then the presidential candidate for NASA who came second in the rigged elections refused to participate in the re-election unless the electoral process was cleaned up so there will be no more rigging. That decision by Raila created some legal problems because if Uhuru was going to be the only candidate the matter would have been taken back to the Supreme Court to clear the way forward with the presidential elections.
Then Uhuru got everything he wanted when the opportunistic Ekuru Aukot of the Third Party Alliance jumped in the contest to run against Uhuru never mind that he got less than 1% of the vote in 2017 and was going to get less. Maybe Uhuru paid him something to get his help to get him to State House

Thirdway Alliance party leader Dr. Ekuru Aukot
With Ekuru Aukot in the presidential ticket, the re-election was technically legal and Uhuru walked back to State House virtually with nobody running against him except Aukot.
The real story here is that the Kriegler Report is useless because Kenyan presidents are law unto themselves and if they need help they have more than enough money to buy that and the country moves on with thugs at State House.
I first met Ekuru Aukot at Bomas Consitution Conference in 2003 when Kenyans were trying to approve a new constitution which was promised to them by the Kibaki and Raila team in the 2002 elections which stopped the Moi then goons, Uhuru Kenyatta and William Ruto from taking over from him.
At the Bomas Conference where there was already a drafted new constitution the battle was to approve it then it goes to parliament to be passed and everything fell apart because the draft of the new constitution was prepared during the elections campaigns and everybody including the presidential candidate Mwai Kibaki loved it or they pretended to so as to get the votes from Kenyans who hated the Moi constitution.
At the Bomas Conference everything about the new constitution became a nightmare when some of the biggest supporters of the new constitution during the elections like Martha Karua and my good friend Koigi Wa Wamwere became very hostile to the new constitution draft and wanted a new draft. They told us that the imperial presidency was bad because Moi who was the president is a Kalenjin but now that Kenya is having a Kikuyu president there was nothing wrong with imperial presidency.

Veteran politician Koigi Wamwere.
Some of us who had been in the human rights movement with people like Koigi Wa Wamwere were stunned. That is where someone like Ekuru Aukot one of the people who drafted the new constitution became very useful. Aukot refused to bend to the demands of the Kibaki mob who pretty much wanted a new draft of the katiba to be like the one Moi was using. Aukot was a real fighter to stop Kibaki and his people from Mutilating the drafted constitution and some us thanked him for that.
Then in came to voting and me and I could not vote because I was not a delegate but was invited there by my friend Odenda Lumumba an activist with the Kenya Land Alliance.
The whole thing was a mess and when Kibaki in 2005 tried to impose his own new constitution on Kenyans in the referendum. Raila and his political team clobbered him and he lost the referendum. Kibaki’s idea was that as a president if he goes for a vote on the constitution people will support him. The man’s ass got kicked in the polls and that is how we ended up with a more sensible katiba in 2010 which many Kenyans love and some have no clue how that happened.
Our Presidential power control in Kenya means William Ruto will pick the IEBC commissioners by working with those who do the recruitment. Kalonzo Musyoka is wasting his time fighting the IEBC which is in place right now. The opposition has to overwhelm William Ruto with huge number of voters which makes it impossible to rig the elections. That how Raila and his team beat Kibaki in the referendum in 2005. You have to get vote numbers which is unrigable. Every Kenyan president since multiparty has rigged the General Elections especially the presidential election in their. It will not be different in 2027.
The big mess for Kalonzo and his friends in the United Opposition right now holding the IEBC hostage and that if they lose they go to Court of Appeal and lose there again and go the Supreme Court which could take them into 2026 or even 2027 because the process is very slow it means there may maybe no voter registration at all before the elections.
Does that help Kalonzo? Of course not and the opposition is pretty committing suicide with no new voter registration and President Ruto will still pick the IEBC he likes at the end of all the Kalonzo drama.
If Kalonzo and his team will fight the IEBC all the way to Supreme Court and lose there depending on how long that that takes, the bottom line is there is no IEBC to do voter registration. If that happens towards the end of the year then the IEBC will be sworn into office and it will take several months for the IEBC which is presently broke and owes money to even start working. William Ruto will not be in a hurry to sort that out and the money for IEBC goes through Parliament.
If they eventually get the money then the IEBC will prioritize handling constituencies that presently have no MPs and they will hold the byelections. That takes another 3-4 months and you are in 2027. It is only then that the IEBC will do some token voter registration which will get like maybe 100,000 new voters on the roll and effectively that means William Ruto will walk back to State House quite easily because the voters in that election will be the voters in 2022 and that group Ruto knows very well how to get them on his side.

The tragedy in all this is that Kalonzo and all those wazees in United Opposition are desperate for the Gen Z votes and they are crawling all over them and of a sudden people who have never talked about human rights and have been in government for decades are pretending that they are the champions for human rights and are the defenders of the Kenyan youth.
Has Kalonzo ever done anything about human rights or for the youth of Kenya in his forty fears in parliament or even during his Kati Kati betrayal of Kenyans when he joined Kibaki who just murdered more that 1,500 Kenyans in 2007/8 post elections violence.
How about Martha Karua who was in the Kibaki government when they were slaughtering Kenyans for Kibaki to grab the presidency. Did Martha Karua do anything for those Kenyans being killed by his boss? And all of a sudden they are the big fighters for human rights and the youth of our country. Kenyans are not as stupid as the United Opposition leaders think they are.
Right now what the opposition dreamland team should be pushing the government to start voter registration and insist that the voter registration should be all the way to the 2027 elections meaning Kenyans would have 2 years to register as voters and those who do not have IDs will have time to get their IDs and go register as voters. If that was to be done there would be something like 6 million new voters ready to cast their votes.
The United Opposition has no clue about that and they are all doing their own cheap politics that will take them nowhere. Gachagua is busy rounding up the mountain and he may end up with the mountain on his head after the impeached dude is told he cannot run for any public office in Kenya. Kalonzo and Martha Karua are basically doing nothing to get votes other than squatting behind the Gen Z movement.
Karua accuses government of sponsoring chaos to cling on power

Martha Karua on the other has been missing in any Ujited Opposition events in well over a month and nobody knows what she is up to. She was probably in Uganda as a lawyer for the opposition leader Kizza Besigye who is held in jail by Museveni.
On July 1, 2025 Martha Karua showed up in court demanding the immediate release of Ndiang’ui Kinyagia a blogger who was abducted from his house ten days ago and is still missing. That was a great job Martha Karua was doing with her feet on the ground and not just seeking support from the Gen Z while doing nothing for them like the rest of those opposition leaders.
In the media today People’s Liberation Party (PLP) leader Martha Karua accused the government of sponsoring violence during recent protests as a strategy to stay in power.
Speaking on Spice FM on Tuesday, July 1, Karua claimed the state was enabling terror by hiring goons and using excessive force on peaceful demonstrators.
“It is when a regime ceases to rely on the law enforcement agencies, and on lawful means and hires goons, it signals the imminent fall of that regime, and that the country is being set up for anarchy. Then you hear a cabinet secretary say that there would be no elections in 2027. The people of Kenya are being terrorized by those who are supposed to protect them, and the taxes they pay are being used to terrorize them,” she said.
“Are they setting us up for anarchy so that they can declare a state of emergency to perpetuate themselves? Because from the looks of it, all over Kenya, people are saying no to this rogue regime. And I keep saying the word ‘Ruto must go.’ It’s not Ruto alone—Ruto is the head of the regime—so people are saying Ruto and his entire complement,” she added..
“About the police stations that were burnt, every government installation is guarded by uniformed police, from the administrative police unit. In all those videos, we didn’t see any of them, and I have been wondering—did the police give way to the goons who set fire? Like the most graphic case is the Nyandarua one,” she said.
“Stop arresting youth who have been vocal, stop arresting human rights champions trying to frame them. We saw the goons; we saw you walk with them. Release the activists who are arrested and go for the people you sent, because you know them by name,” she said, describing the government’s actions as treasonous.
On the case of abductions by the Ruto thugs called police officers Martha Karua was very right and here is one case which is just too scary for everybody. The police bosses know where Ndiang’ui Kinyagia is and lets all hope they did not kill this young man who they grabbed from his house and took his phones and computers.
Produce Ndiang’ui Kinyagia Whether Dead or Alive – Justice Chacha Mwita Tells IG Kanja, DCI Amin
Jul 01, 2025

File image of Ndiang’ui Kinyagia, DCI boss Mohamed Amin and IG Douglas Kanja
Justice Chacha Mwita has directed IG Douglas Kanja and DCI boss Mohamed Amin to produce missing blogger Ndiang’ui Kinyagia whether dead or alive.
Martha Karua continued her denouncement of the Ruto regime “The way I see Kasongo continuing, he wants to destroy the country so that he can declare a state of emergency. He has seen that his days are almost over. He is sending goons to burn police stations, destroy government property, then he says it is our supporters doing that,” Karua told the crowd, using Ruto’s newfound nickname
Responding to President William Ruto’s question on how he should leave office, Karua said: “Dr Ruto asked how I should go? Take the same route you took to come to where you are. You could either resign. If you respected the people-the—voice of the people.
Quite frankly any opposition leader asking President William Ruto to resign is making a bad joke. If it is about human rights abuses and killing of Kenyans, Martha Karua was tight in the Kibaki government that killed many Kenyans in the 2007/8 horrific massacres in the country and she did not resign herself from that treachery against Kenyans.
Martha Karua also did not ask her then boss Mwai Kibaki to resign. Double standards is the sick politics that is threatening life and prosperity in our country and it has to stop and that requires a little bit of honesty from our politicians.
This brings us close to the end of the United Opposition list but we have a few words to help Fred Matiang’i go to State House in 2027.
On July 1, 2025 one of Matiang’i’s big campaigners posted something on her X account (social media) urging Kenyans to listen to Matiang’i and I was not surprised at the responses she got as feed and below are just a few of what Kenyans were telling her about Matiang’i and many of them also wanted the man to take responsibility for killing Baby Pendo. This the stuff Kenyans gave as feed back.
“I asked for an inquest on River Yala and I am ready to appear before a judge or a magistrate. Police had opened a file. By the time I was leaving office, the file was still open and I did not go home with it.
Last week, bodies were discovered in River Yala. I have not heard anybody accusing CS Murkomen of dumping bodies in River Yala. We have also seen the Kware killings where the suspect just walked out of a police station and vanished.”- Dr. Fred Matiang’i
It is pretty shocking to hear Matiang’i from his own mouth saying yes I murdered people and dumped them in River Yala but it is possible that Murkomen is doing the same thing. Mr. Matiang’i you are the one running to be Kenya’s president in 2027 and not Murkomen. If that is the only defense you have for killing people and throwing their bodies in a river then you are screwed up big time.
Lastly we have the man who wants to be the president of a country called Mt. Kenya. Where is that country? Kikuyu Kenyans are very patriotic people and they have their country called Kenya which they love very much and they have big stakes in it politically and economically. Why on earth would anyone want to separate Kikuyus from their fellow Kenyans?
I will lead Mt Kenya from Kamiti, Gachagua dares arrest

According the latest news a defiant Gachagua announced that he is ready to lead the Mt Kenya region politically from prison, with ready mentees to take over from him.
“Even if you imprison me, I will give direction to Mt Kenya from Kamiti Maximum Prison. Mt Kenya is done with you. Even if you kill me, I have mentored capable leaders to take over from me,” said Gachagua.
Gachagua is expected to tour the United States (US) to meet the diaspora community with an intention of rallying support and funds to bankroll his anti-government campaigns.
He took issue with DCI boss Mohammed Amin saying that the agency has failed in arresting the real culprits behind the violent protests and looting of businesses and they are abusing human rights in Kenya.
Talking about human rights in Kenya, here is Rigathi Gachagua as DP at work for William Ruto during the Saba Saba rallies in July 2023 when he was trying to go as far as publicly assassinating leaders of those rallies. Imagine such an animal as Kenya’s president.
Rigathi Gachagua is going to be a big headache for the entire United Opposition team. Right now Gachagua is in the lower courts trying to get his impeachment overturned. That is not going to happen. Then once the ruling is out Gachagua will take his impeachment case to the Court of Appeal and that is a hearing which will be done next year maybe until December. If the appeal court does not overturn the impeachment, Gachagua will take his case to the Supreme Court and could go well into 2027.
When all these is going on the United Opposition will be dying to pick their presidential candidate but Gachagua will force them to wait until the Supreme Court makes a ruling on his impeachment.
As that goes on members of the United opposition will walk out and declare themselves as presidential candidates. Fred Matiang’i with all the money he has invested buying huge trucks will leave first followed by Kalonzo Musyoka declaring himself as a presidential candidate and it will be a painful slow death for the United Opposition gimmick alliance.
