The DCI claims the former CS published false information regarding the alleged police raid at his home.
Lawyer Danstan Omari fears that the DCI was quietly plotting to detain the former CS with the intention of arresting him.
The former Interior CS is reported to have declined to respond to questions on his assets, citing Article 49 of the Constitution, where a person has the right to remain silent.
According to Omari, the move by Matiang’i annoyed the detective, who stated his client will be arrested if he failed to respond to their questions.
Matiang’i was to appear before the DCI last week, but his lawyer said Matiang’i had traveled to the United Kingdom to attend to family matters.
