CS Ruku Urges Mbeere North Residents to Back Government Development Agenda

Public Service, Human Capital Development and Special Programmes Cabinet Secretary Geoffrey Ruku has urged residents of Mbeere North to support the Kenya Kwanza administration’s development agenda, assuring them that no region will be left behind in the government’s quest for inclusive growth.

Speaking during the launch of a new ultramodern administration block at Kogari Comprehensive School in Evurori Ward, Embu County, the CS highlighted ongoing infrastructure and social projects intended to uplift the region. He pointed to the upgrading of the Ishiara–Kirie–Gikuyari Road to bitumen standard, the Mukanda Irrigation Project, and rural electrification as evidence that Mbeere North is firmly on the national development radar.

“This government is walking the talk, and I urge residents to stand with us as we transform this region,” he said, noting that under President William Ruto’s leadership, previously marginalized areas were receiving greater investment in roads, water, electricity, and education.

The CS also cautioned locals against being swayed by opposition figures, whom he accused of failing in past leadership roles. He argued that residents should focus on tangible development instead of what he termed “empty rhetoric.” In pointed remarks, he criticized the former Deputy President for not fielding a candidate in the ongoing Mbeere North by-election, suggesting it signaled dwindling political influence.

Beyond politics, Ruku emphasized the central role of education in breaking the cycle of poverty and urged parents to prioritize schooling for their children. “The government can build roads and bring water, but true transformation starts with education,” he stated.

He reaffirmed that the government remains committed to scaling up projects in Mbeere North and across the country, pledging that no community would be left behind in the journey toward national progress.
