Can Politicians Leave Raila Odinga to Rest in His Grave

List of leaders who have publicly raised questions about cause of Raila’s death

As far as some desperate Kenyan politicians are concerned the words “Rest in Peace” mean nothing for Raila Amolo Odinga after his death.

There is a group of politicians looking for relevance and they are dragging Raila’s body out of his Kang’o Ka Jaramogi resting home and some are just tearing out his hair, his ears and especially his mouth through which they claim Raila told them what to do for Kenya after he dies.

If Raila Odinga could come out of his grave even for just one minute and say I support this politician or that one, they would tell him to go back to his grave and never dare to show up again because at that time they would be done with him kabisa.

Raila had defined Kenya’s political landscape for over 30 years, and his absence left many wondering how the nation would move forward without him.

Although no suspicions were publicly raised immediately after his death, political desperados are running amok searching for the person or persons who killed Raila Odinga.

Maybe they can get the body out for autopsy and other tests and who knows there could be bullets lodged in Raila’s body to help them convince Kenyans that was murdered most likely by President William Ruto.

Already the DCP big boy Cleophas Malala has very good ideas on how Raila was killed according to his own public statement.

Malala, while speaking to a local radio station questioned the circumstances surrounding the death of Raila.

“Ruth Odinga said, ‘After I switched off that machine, I knew Kenya had lost his life,’ yet they also claimed Baba died while taking a walk at the hospital in India. How is that possible?” he asked.

He continued, “If Ruth was with Baba and switched off the machine, how is it that she later flew with Murkomen to India to bring his body back?”

Siaya Governor James Orengo has been at the forefront of raising concerns. He has repeatedly claimed that Raila was killed and did not die of natural causes, as officially stated.

Speaking at Amalemba Grounds in Kakamega Town on Saturday, February 21, 2026, Orengo claimed that the same individuals he believes were behind Raila’s death are now plotting to take his party, the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM), which Raila led for more than two decades.

Kifo ya Raila Odinga wameua Raila Odinga; sasa wanataka kuua chama cha Raila,” Orengo said.

One of the most troubling things about James Orengo’s statement was that he declared that those who killed Raila are the ones taking ODM today and Orengo was saying that knowing that Raila Odinga’s own brother Dr. Oburu Oginga is the new leader of ODM whom people like Orengo are fighting. Is James Orengo suggesting that Oburu was involved in the killing of his brother? For what? For money from William Ruto? Is Oburu that broke and that desperate for money?

Kalonzo backs Orengo

Predictably going nowhere politicians like Kalonzo Muysoka have jumped into the Raila Odinga was killed sound bites to give him a little publicity. Speaking during a church service at PCEA Utawala on Sunday, February 22, 2026, Kalonzo backed Orengo’s concerns, stating that since such serious claims have been made, a thorough and independent investigation should be conducted to address the lingering questions and calm public anxiety.

“James Orengo has been speaking since Raila Amolo Odinga left us. He has a lot of questions. And so Jim was very categorical. Alisema kuwa Raila aliuliwa; in order to deal with that lingering issue, I would want to suggest a thorough inquest so that Kenyans can know the truth,” Kalonzo said.

Caleb’s concerns on Raila’s death

Saboti MP Caleb Amisi also expressed dissatisfaction, saying there is more than meets the eye regarding the circumstances of Raila’s death.

While acknowledging the family’s mourning period, he stated that at the right time he would begin asking questions, noting that Raila was not an ordinary citizen whose death could simply be brushed aside.

“Yeah, I don’t want to be the speculator or the spreader of rumours, but I think there are a lot of question marks. Very soon, we’ll start asking questions. When the mourning period ends, we will start asking questions,” Amisi said during an interview on Obinna TV..

Embakasi East MP Babu Owino, on his part, while speaking during an interview with a local TV station on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, came out to back Kalonzo Musyoka’s and James Orengo’s concerns, saying that where there is smoke, there is fire.

Babu Owino’s concerns

He added that when the two leaders, both senior counsels and advocates of the High Court, raise suspicions, it is not something to take lightly.

“My brother, where there is smoke, there is fire. You see, James Orengo is an advocate of the High Court, as is Kalonzo Musyoka as well – they are both senior counsels. Think about this issue of Baba and everything surrounding his death. I think we need sufficient time.”

“I also need time to talk about it. We all need time to talk about it.”

My friends what Kenyans need to hear from politicians are their plans for Kenya as we approach the next elections which is just one year away. Tearing Raila Odinga’s body to pieces as it lies at his grave is the last thing Kenyans are interested in.

Let the man rest where he is and the politicians can find some other games to play as they look for political relevance.

If these desperate folks can leave Raila Odinga alone they can then concentrate on looking for somebody to teargas them at their rallies so they can find something to talk about and look important.

In Kenya today we have politicians who have to be in the news everyday one way or the other and every time they have nothing of any sense or even remotely important to talk to Kenyans about and that is poor why Raila Odinga is being tormented more in death than he was in life spending years in jail, detention and Nyayo torture chambers.

I am not a religious person by any chance, but I have been thinking I need to offer prayers to our national warrior Raila Odinga to keep him peaceful with all the turmoil, so I decided to ask my sisters who go to church all the time to do the prayers and that is coming this Sunday March 1, 2026 at our late mother’s church which is not far from Kang’o Ka Jaramogi.

Tafuteni teargas because when you look at the big rallies in Kisii in the last three days, it was pathetic and right now after the rallies, those jumbo jet opposition leaders have nothing to brag about and are conveniently silent for once. It is hard for them but that is what is going to happen going forward.
