Gachagua: Kenya is not safe for tourists, investors or foreigners
Many Kenyans have been complaining that Rigathi Gachagua and the entire opposition has no agenda to develop and build the country for Kenyans to make their lives better and they are not willing to buy that kind of do-nothing plan from the opposition.
Well now Gachagua has told every Kenyan that he and the opposition team have a grand plan for the country which starts with tourists and all foreign investors not being allowed to set foot in Kenya until he or one of his opposition co-leaders becomes the president of Kenya sometimes in future.
That is a great plan for Kenyans in the country investing and working in the Tourism Sector of the national economy and are able to live descent lives and support their families. Gachagua is telling those tourism workers to go home as he wants no tourist to come to Kenya and how those workers afford to live after losing jobs if Gachagua achieves his goals of killing tourism in the country is none of Gachagua’s business because he is a billionaire with money he stole from Kenyans.
Tourism and foreign direct investment remain key pillars of Kenya’s economy, with the government continuing to market the country as a safe destination for international visitors and business. Gachagua’s latest comments amount to nothing more than super stupid gimmicks and if that is the opposition plan for the country then they are the best gift President William Ruto can get to be re-elected in 2027.
In the news today, former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has for the second time urged foreign tourists and investors to delay travelling to Kenya, claiming the country is unsafe due to the continued presence of armed ‘goons’ that he alleged have not been brought under control.
Speaking at a church service on Sunday, July 26, 2026, Gachagua said foreigners should remain in their home countries until the government demonstrates it has restored security.
“Wazungu wanauliza, ‘Are we safe?’ I am telling foreigners, ‘You are not safe in this country.’ Stay in your country for now. Sisi hatuwezi toka hapa, sisi tutagangana hapa polepole, because hatuna pahali pa kwenda,” he said.
Why are we still seeing goons?
The former deputy president questioned President William Ruto’s earlier assertions that criminal gangs had been dealt with, arguing that those responsible for violence were still operating freely.
“Ruto amesema goons imekwisha. Tangu aseme, kuna mtu ameshikwa? The goons are still around. They are hooded, and they are having weapons,” he said.
Effect of poor security situation
Gachagua maintained that the prevailing security situation had undermined confidence in Kenya as a destination for tourism and investment.
“The country is not safe. It’s not safe for Kenyans, it’s not safe for foreigners, it’s not safe for tourists, it’s not safe for investors. That is the truth,” he said.
The real big problem for the country here is that none of the Gachagua’s alleged co-leaders in the United Opposition can say a word to Kenyans to assure them that they support tourism in Kenya and foreign investments to boost the economy and help Kenyans get jobs and make a living. They all know that if they say anything to defend the country against Gachagua’s outrageous statements they will be kicked out of the opposition squad.
That is more painful to them than standing up to support Kenya’s economy and those who make their living working in the tourism sector of Kenya national economy.
Kaolonzo Musyoka cannot say anything to defend Kenyans when Gachagua tries to destroy them because he knows if he does anything like that even the slim chance of Gachagua giving him the presidential ticket for the opposition in 2027 will melt into ash. Martha Karua will not dare say anything either.
When Health CS Duale made some stupid tribalistic statements about different communities of Kenya all the opposition leaders were in the media rightfully condemning his statements and Kalonzo demanding that he resigns.
Now Gachagua wants to blow the country up into smoke economically right in front of the opposition chiefs and they have to remain dead quiet for their own safety in the opposition leadership. What a shameful decision.
Linda Mwananchi leaders also cannot come in either to defend their country because all their hopes are now in the hands of Rigathi Gachagua their new hero now even though Gachagua himself is a terrible thief of public money which Linda folks pledge to fight against.
The good news for Gachagua is that he is now a billionaire who robbed Kenyans by grabbing Sh. 7.3 billion and his case was in court when he became William’s Ruto Deputy President and they made a deal to have the charges against Gachagua withdrawn so the big boy could keep his stolen billions. That was the first thing the Ruto and Gachagua government did three months after taking office in 2022.
DPP withdraws Sh7.3 billion fraud charges against Gachagua

Here was the news on November 11, 2022, when the grand thief Rigathi Gachagua got free money which he stole and was held by the EACC.
Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua is off the hook in the Sh7.3 billion corruption charges after a court yesterday allowed the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Noordin Haji to withdraw the case.
The charge sheet stated that on diverse dates between 2013 and 2020 in Nairobi, Gachagua fraudulently received Sh7,330,011,265 through three bank accounts at Rafiki Micro-Finance bank while knowing that the monies were proceeds of crime.
The court also directed the Sh12 million cash bail Gachagua deposited in court as a condition for his release when he was charged be returned to him.
The DP was accused, alongside nine others, of fraudulently obtaining Sh. 7.3 billion through unscrupulous government operations.
Gachagua was charged with six counts that comprised acquiring proceeds of crime, conspiracy to commit corruption, conflict of interest, money laundering and fraudulent acquisition of public property.
The real fact is that when Kenyans hear opposition leaders even the new young team screaming to the public how tough they are going to fight corruption in Kenya while they all worship Gachagua one of the most corrupt thieves in Kenya who got away with Sh. 7.3 billion everybody knows they all just want power like all the others and everything else is a joke and theatre for them to have fun.
Good for them because Kenyans will deal with that in August 2027. What else can anyone ask for including the voters?
At some point Kenyans will have to deal with deadly Economic Goons like Rigathi Gachagua who have robbed the country dry in broad daylight and stuffed all that money in their pockets.
