Ruto Reaffirms Commitment to Broad-Based Government Agenda at UDA-ODM Joint Meeting

President William Ruto has reiterated his administration’s commitment to delivering on the Broad-Based Government’s 10-Point Agenda, emphasizing unity, economic stability, and social reforms as key pillars of his leadership.

Speaking during a joint parliamentary group meeting of the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) and the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC) in Nairobi, President Ruto outlined the government’s progress and future priorities under the broad-based framework.

“The Broad-Based Government continues to deliver on its mandate to the people, including the 10-Point Agenda,” President Ruto said. “This includes uniting the country, stabilising the economy, reducing the cost of living by lowering inflation, enhancing agricultural productivity, and expanding health coverage under the Social Health Authority.”

The President highlighted ongoing efforts to boost infrastructure development across the country, create employment opportunities for the youth, and strengthen devolution through increased funding to county governments.

On justice and governance, Ruto announced that the government has implemented key police reforms and initiated compensation for victims of protests. He further called on the Kenya National Human Rights Commission (KNHRC) to draft and propose legislation to Parliament aimed at protecting the rights of protestors.

In a significant political development, the meeting resolved to establish a parliamentary broad-based mediation committee to fast-track the implementation of outstanding legislative items proposed by the National Dialogue Committee (NADCO).

The joint session between UDA and ODM marks a continued effort to foster bipartisan cooperation in Parliament, with the President emphasizing that unity and dialogue remain central to achieving national transformation.

“The spirit of inclusivity and shared responsibility is what will drive Kenya forward,” Ruto affirmed, underscoring his administration’s focus on delivering tangible results for all citizens.
