Sifuna Should Leave ODM Alone and Join Gachagua: Linda Ground Is The Best Thing ODM Has Done

ODM split widens as SG Sifuna disowns party rallies, alleges secret financiers

When I saw ODM moving to talk to Kenyans in their communities and rallying for more voter registration for their members to be a powerful force in the 2027 and there was that incredible rally in Kisumu where Oburu Odinga did something great by telling Deputy President Kithure Kindiki that ODM is not there to fight to throw him out of office, I was asking myself where is Edwin Sifuna to ruin everything for ODM.

Well now he comes speaking as if he owns ODM as his personal property. My sense is that a politically greedy guy like Sifuna was going to give a demand that before ODM negotiates with UDA for 2027 elections Ruto must promise that Edwin Sifuna as ODM Secretary General would be the Deputy Presidential candidate then ODM will be in and Sifuna will looking forward to taking the presidency in 2032.

If Sifuna wants the governor job in Nairobi, Gachagua will not tolerate any such ideas from him. Even the Nairobi Senator position Sifuna now holds, Gachagua will not allow that for Sifuna. After all is said and done Sifuna can get an MCA elected position in 2027 working with the opposition. There is nothing else for him out there.

One thing ODM need to do is not to waste time firing Sifuna from ODM because that is what he is praying for so that he gets into the news as some force in 2027 elections where he is going to be completely irrelevant. ODM should let Sifuna hang on to that SG job and just ignore him completely. So far it is working great for them.

Oparanya and Barasa lead separate ODM Linda Ground forums in Kakamega ...

In the media, the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Secretary General Edwin Sifuna has claimed that recent rallies held under the party’s banner are not being financed from ODM coffers, raising fresh questions over funding sources amid growing internal divisions.

“I can state authoritatively that the resources you see being spent in ODM rallies, the so-called Linda Ground, are not coming from ODM headquarters,” said the outspoken Nairobi Senator.

Is there any one thing or event Edwin Sifuna as the ODM SG can say he has done to promote his party and make things better for Kenyans? Zero and Zero is the answer. This dude needs to go to another party or have his own party. ODM owes him nothing and neither do Kenyans.

In terms of the NADCO 10 point deal here is one of the most important pieces giving practical suggestions on what to do instead of endless whining form the likes of Sifuna.

Ruth Odinga has come out with one thing that needs to be done ow on the 10-point promise that President William Ruto and Raila Amolo Odinga as ODM leader agreed on to stabilize the country at troubling times when the nation was on fire everywhere made some very important demand.

It is time to provide justice and compensation for victims of state violence from 2017 to 2025 and that should be in process right away.

Kisumu Woman Representative Ruth Odinga has called on the government to announce progress on the implementation of the 10-point agenda.

“One of the ten points that was at the heart of the Rt. Hon. Raila Odinga was the right to peaceful assembly, and compensation for all pending claims of rights victims. In Kenya, the responsibility for creating a compensation formula for victims of state violence – specifically those killed or injured by state authorities during demonstrations – falls in the hands of the Kenya National Commission on Human Rights (KNCHR).

Why no single victim has been compensated can best be attributed to lack of political goodwill. That we had to create the Panel of Experts on Compensation of Victims of Demonstrations and Public Protests explains it all. Now that it is clear how the compensation should be done, can we see progress? “Ruth said.

I took personal issue on this matter and contacted Amnesty International Kenya Executive Director Irungu Houghton and we reached a consensus that now everybody accepts that Kenya National Commission for Human Rights (KNCHR) should be in charge of the process and it should be going on right now. What is the hold up?
