Dr. Oburu Oginga is Delivering on Both Sides: Development to ODM Supporters and Doom to Opposition

‘DP, we do not want your seat,’ Oburu tells Kindiki amid unity call

ODM party leader Oburu Oginga has dismissed claims of political rivalry with the Deputy President, insisting that the party’s engagement with the Kenya Kwanza administration is driven by national interest, not power contests.

“For the Deputy President, we do not want your seat. You are our friend,” Oburu said on Monday during the launch of Nota programme in Kisumu.

“As we negotiate, we will negotiate for what our people deserve and for all Kenyans.”

Oburu said ODM’s cooperation with President William Ruto’s administration follows years of political contestation and the loss of his brother, veteran opposition leader Raila Odinga’s long-time ally, which reshaped the party’s approach to national politics.

“ODM has collaborated with UDA in the broad-based government. Since we lost my brother and he left us in this situation, we decided to work together,” he said.

Responding to renewed calls for street protests by sections of the opposition, Oburu warned against attempts to provoke unrest, saying ODM supporters are well aware of the cost of demonstrations.

“We were known for protests. Some people are now talking about demos — let them come, we will show them protests. They do not know protests,” he said.

He reiterated that ODM is a national party and not confined to any single ethnic or regional identity.

“Our party is not a Jaluo party. It is a party for the whole country,” Oburu said, adding that the party’s priority is equitable development.

“We will make sure everyone gets a fair share of the national cake.”

Oburu also took a swipe at emerging political rivals, questioning their visibility and grassroots engagement.

“Those who want to take over government — I don’t see them campaigning. They are just circling in one area,” he said. “I have never seen a president campaign with this kind of energy.”

Calling for unity and stability, the ODM leader urged Kenyans to support the current political cooperation to unlock development and shared prosperity.

“Let us continue to embrace our country so that our people benefit,” he said, ending with a metaphorical rallying call: “Tufike Canaan kupitia Singapore.”

It looks like Ruto was having a ball at Jomo Kenyatta Stadium in Kisumu as young Kenyans came out to teach him some dance moves.

As things look better every day for President Ruto, Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru just delivered a devastating blow to Gachagua’s head after the old goof lied that Mwea rice farmers have no market as part of his tribalistic nonsense about the Ruto government trying to destroy Kenyans from the Kikuyu community in every way possible. Now Gachagua can listen to the Governor Waiguru who knows what is happening at Mwea Rice Farms and how rice farmers there are doing. This is a shock to Gahagua who never even bothered to go talk to those rice farmers in Mwea.

Waiguru dismisses Gachagua’s claims of Rice Farmers Not Getting Paid

In the media today, Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru has rejected claims by former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua that leaders in the county have been “pocketed” and that Mwea rice farmers lack a market for their produce, describing the remarks as misleading and inconsistent with the situation on the ground.

In a statement issued in response to Gachagua’s comments, Waiguru said the county government has no dispute over Mwea rice and clarified that the National Government has already taken up all rice stored in local depots, ensuring that farmers are paid.

Waiguru also dismissed allegations that Kirinyaga leaders had been compromised, saying elected leaders in the county had made their political choices based on the interests of residents.

“I usually do not respond to petty allegations, recognizing that not every provocation deserves the dignity of response, but on this one, allow me to bring to the attention of former DP Rigathi Gachagua that we have no issue with Mwea rice and to clarify that the National Government has already up taken all rice in our stores, securing our farmers’ incomes,” Waiguru said.

“These sorts of interventions are what true leaders engage in, the rest we leave to activists. As for pocketing leaders: Kirinyaga leaders have made a determination on which side they are, for the benefit of their people. Come and see just a few of our achievements,” Waiguru said.

She further explained that Kirinyaga’s collaboration with the National Government has helped them improve the welfare of Kirinyaga people

She pointed to a number of development projects implemented under her administration, including the construction and upgrading of feeder roads in Kagio town, the ongoing Kagumo–Mununga–Kiamaina–Gathuthuma–Kianjagi Road project, and the 55-kilometre PI–Murinduko–Kiumbu–Kiandegwa Road.

The governor further cited the construction of 11 new markets, the development of a dam to support Mwea farmers, and improved earnings for coffee farmers, who she said are currently earning up to Sh148 per kilogram, the highest payout in the country.

According to Waiguru, collaboration with the National Government has played a key role in improving livelihoods across Kirinyaga County.

She noted that voters would ultimately judge leaders based on performance and service delivery.

Gachagua, while speaking during an interview, claimed that most Members of the County Assembly from Kirinyaga had been compromised by the governor and accused the government of failing to provide a market for Mwea rice, allegations that Waiguru has firmly denied.

Gachagua EXPLOSIVE speech today at DCP Rally in Kangari Muranga ...

“The MCAs from Nyandarua and Murang’a are important, and the ones from Kiambu have made me very happy. Kirinyaga, most of them have been pocketed by the governor, and they don’t even know what is going on, and for that, they will be going home, apart from a few other who know what they are doing; the rest have been bought to betray the community,” Gachagua claimed.

“The government has bought Mwea, and now the residents are crying for a lack of market for their rice, while the governor and other leaders are just walking around. I am okay with the team I have, and so far so good it is expanding by the day.”

At this point Rigathi Gachagua now wants to divide the Kikuyu communities into blocks so that he can have Murang’a and Nyeri while Waiguru takes Kirinyaga.

Gachugua was already talking about Kikuyu clans during the Mbeere North by-elections where he got his ass kicked by UDA candidate and claimed that Moses Kuria party picked a candidate from the same clan as his candidate and that is why they lost. Poor old man.

Soon Gachagua is going to try splitting our Kikuyu folks into families who are fighting each other. Someone needs to tell Gachagua that there are better ways to lose politically and be dumped. He doesn’t have to go into the dumping ground headfirst. That could hurt badly and it is not necessary.
