First it was Cleophas Malala threatening President Ruto and his government that the opposition is preparing for a nationwide mass demonstration against the government and this time the opposition gave the exact date those demonstrations are starting.
“Tarehe 16 tunarudi kwa IG Kanja na tukipata wale polisi hawajashikwa, ama kuachishwa kazi, tutapanga maandamano kenya mzima,” he stated.
Then came Fred Matiang’i also making it clear that his is a great worshipper of King Rigathi Gachagua and declaring that they are ready to go to war because their king had some problems in some church.
Matiang’i: We don’t need Ruto’s permission to go to church

Jubilee Deputy Party Leader Fred Matiangi has called out President Ruto for the recent attacks on opposition leaders during church services, stating that the United opposition leaders require no permission from the government to attend church or hold public engagements.
Speaking during a United Opposition public rally in Othaya, Nyeri County, on Sunday, February 1, 2026, Matiangi emphasised that religious gatherings and planning for political activities are protected under the Constitution.
He urged Kenyans and leaders to respect the law and reject attempts to interfere in religious or political freedoms. He further defended Gachagua after he was attacked last week while attending a church service in Othaya.
“Watu waheshimu katiba ya Kenya. Hatuhitaji hidhini ya mtu kuenda kanisa, hatuhitaji idhini ya mtu kuenda kanisa kwa hivyo Rigathi Gachagua hahitaji idhini ya mtu yeyote kuenda kanisa au kuungana na watu wengine na kuongea kupanga mambo ya Kenya,” Fred Matiangi said during the rally.
Kalonzo Musyoka was not going to be left behind in assuring the king that even him with his 40 years in government and sometime in opposition stands firmly behind the big dude.

“Disorder has been the order of the day. Yaani kutukana viongozi wenzako. Kuwatukana tu. Matusi. Nakujipiga kifua. Ukijipiga kifua kusema utashinda na kura millioni mbili millioni tatu. And you know the truth as Fred has said. The truth, is as we speak now, William Ruto has no chance of second term. That is the truth. Ukweli ndio huo,” Kalonzo said.
As Kenyans can see the opposition is already holding their mass rallies, except these are mass rallies held in churches every Sunday with a crowd of about 50 worshippers who go to those churches for their prayers and get invaded by opposition politicians who have nowhere else to go to hold real mass rallies.
February 16, 2026, the promised start date of massive demonstrations all over the country against the Ruto government for bothering Gachagua in a church is going to be end of the end of Ruto and his government. I am sure William Ruto is trembling with fear and gloom waiting for massive demos all over the country to get rid of him.
Maybe it is the opposition trembling with fear that Kenyans are not going to come out for their rallies and will have better things to do for themselves and their lives.

It is time to see where this Gachagua revolution is going if anywhere. Bring it on please, Mr. United Opposition. The nation awaits eagerly.
