38 Shortlisted for Four Top Director Posts at Social Health Authority

The Social Health Authority (SHA) has moved a step closer to filling four senior leadership positions after shortlisting 38 candidates from a pool of 494 applicants.

The recruitment process, which follows the advertisement published on July 29, 2025, has drawn significant attention given the authority’s pivotal role in steering Kenya’s ambitious universal health coverage agenda.

According to a notice released on September 2, only 38 candidates advanced to the interview stage, leaving 456 unsuccessful. The positions up for grabs include Director, Provider and Beneficiary Management; Director, Benefits and Claims Management; Director, Corporate Services; and Director, Funds and Finance Management.

The interviews are scheduled for September 9 and 10, 2025, at SHA’s headquarters in Nairobi. Among those vying for the post of Director, Provider and Beneficiary Management are Hazel Jerrutai Koitaba, James Leiro Letangule, and Dr. Diana Marioni.

For the Director, Corporate Services position, candidates such as Jackline Leitch, Mohamed Alio Ibrahim, and Phyllis Nyakiba will appear before the panel. In the Benefits and Claims Management category, notable names include Solomon Omaria, Kandie Ng’ochot, and Tizrah Tracey John.

Meanwhile, the Funds and Finance Management slot has attracted contenders like Peter Mutui, Osma Hassan Ibrahim, and Caren Awour Oduor.

The SHA has emphasised transparency in the recruitment exercise. Shortlisted candidates have been instructed to present themselves at least 30 minutes before their scheduled interviews and to carry original identification and clearance documents from relevant agencies, including HELB, KRA, CRB, DCI, and the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission.

In a move to enhance accountability, members of the public have also been invited to share any adverse information regarding the shortlisted individuals. “Public participation is critical in ensuring integrity in leadership,” said Dr. Abdi Mohamed, Chairperson of the SHA Board.
