2027 Game Plan? Gachagua Hosts Kisii MCAs at Wamunyoro Residence

7 mins read

Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua on Wednesday hosted 20 elected MCAs from Murang’a county, seeking to consolidate the Mount Kenya region.

The ex-DP’s meeting came a day after a Nakuru County Assembly MCAs visited him at his Wamunyoro residence in Mathira Constuency.

Gachagua’s latest meetings with MCAs are seen as part of his elaborate strategy to ring-fence his Mount Kenya from rival camps ahead of the 2027 polls.

“The voice of the people is at the grassroots. Our Constitution 2010 remains a game-changer in the creation and empowerment of the MCAs, who at all times are the voice of the people,” Gachagua said.

“In this call, I engaged at my Wamunyoro residence, the incredible MCAs from Murang’a County. They have shared with me what the people of Muranga County are saying in the villages we all belong to.”

“The law says this: if you have been impeached, you cannot hold a public office. You cannot have any public office. Do we understand each other? Not even nyumba kumi will you get,” Mudavadi declared, reminding Gachagua of his prospects in future government positions.

Mudavadi went on to use the examples of former governors who were impeached and lost their political footing as a way to stress the long-term consequences of his ouster.

“So, you know that when the person was the governor in Nairobi, after they were impeached, they never moved again. Isn’t that so? You know that when the person was in Kiambu, after being impeached, they didn’t move again,” he added.

What is Mudavadi’s warning on Gachagua? The prime Cabinet secretary stated that it was time to move forward, urging Gachagua to accept his predicament.

“I want, as the people of this region, for you to take the law, reflect on it, look at it properly, because we don’t want to be misled by someone(former DP Rigathi Gachagua) who is walking around and cannot even hold a public office. Let us not waste our time.

Let us move forward,” Mudavadi asserted, urging Kenyans to focus on progress. He also addressed what he described as Gachagua’s continuous mourning of his past political defeat, which, according to him, had become a hindrance to the country’s progress.

“So, if somebody was mourning, they have finished mourning. The mourning period is over. Kenya must move on. Kenya is not there to listen to you mourning every other day,” he declared.

The real deal with Gachagua is that he is going to bring Kalonzo Musyoka is his alliance. The only way Kalonzo is coming to that alliance is if he is the presidential candidate for 2027.

Kalonzo was a nightmare to Azimio Coalition in 2022 and finally joined the group in the last minute. This time Kalonzo will join Gachagua as long as he is the Presidential candidate.

The question is who will be his DP candidate. Gachagua is out so everybody has to forget that. Do they take resigning CS Muturi? Do they take Matiangi as the DP? Do they go for Natambeya from Bungoma?

That is how hard the 2027 election is going to be for those who want to get rid of William Ruto as President. He has zero opposition as of right now. Simple as that. Even Martha Karua cannot run for an MCA and win anything. That is how bad things are for the so called opposition.

Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka now claims there is an elaborate plan by the Kenya Kwanza administration to enlist aliens as voters ahead of the 2027 General Election.

Kalonzo warned that the government could be leveraging on the continuous voter registration exercise to recruit foreigners as Kenyan voters.

The former Vice President said the move could set a poor constitutional precedent, noting that the opposition is keenly monitoring the purported planned election malpractice.

“We hope William Ruto is not going to register aliens as voters, we suspect there could be plans under foot to register aliens not Kenyans as voters in Kenya,” claimed Kalonzo on Wednesday.

Please, self declared opposition leader, Mr. Kalonzo Musyoka, can you concentrate on one sensible thing at least at that is the fact that we need the IEBC working so that Kenyan young people known as Gen Z can register to vote in 2027? Why are you wasting so much time on all these irrelevancies?

'Incompetent, corrupt and tribal': President Ruto fires at Gachagua

President William Ruto has hit out at impeached Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, accusing him of attempting to divide Kenyans along ethnic lines, adding that his efforts will not bear fruit.

Since leaving office, Gachagua has been a thorn in Ruto’s side, persistently criticizing the Kenya Kwanza government while also launching a charm offensive in the Mt. Kenya region ahead of the 2027 polls, in an effort to seemingly undermine the head of state’s influence and consolidating his own political base ahead of the next elections.

Speaking in Luanda, Vihiga County, on Wednesday, President Ruto pointed out that some of his major political adversaries had served under him in the past but were removed from office due to incompetence, a veiled reference that appeared to be directed at Gachagua.

“Kuna watu wengine wanataka kutuletea siasa ya ukabila, chuki na ya kutenganisha wakenya, mimi nataka niwaulize hawa watu watafte sera…wananchi hawa hawawezi kununua ukabila my friend; hawawezi kununua chuki,” said President Ruto.
